Seitzer's approach is evident. These batters are battling each time out there. No homer-or-bust **** to be seen yet.

Kevin Gausman just hit 101 on the gun. Where is this coming from?Comment

Re: 4/5 - 4/19 Game Discussion Thread
Just to be clear, I like the direction this Braves team is headed in with Hart and Co. And I agree that Seitzer is a definite improvement on whatever this team attempted to call an offense last year.
It's all good stuff, but all this ra-ra b.s. over the ball getting put in play is already getting old. I don't need to hear the TV and radio guys getting off of on every ground ball hit by this offense that is probably going to be one of the worst is baseball this year. Now, more than everComment

Kevin Kiermaier just made it a 1-run game for the Rays with a 2-run homer! Tripled earlier too.Comment

Oh yeah jgainsey, I didn't mean anything about you. It's not a great lineup, but I think there is a better than good chance for them to be at least more productive than last year. It's also exciting to see some young guys who may be mentioned in a bunch of these weekly threads going forward like Peterson and Bethancourt (I hope anyway).
Braves have 8 runs scored tonight and no home runs. Anyone know the last time that happened (by the Braves)?Comment

Re: 4/5 - 4/19 Game Discussion Thread
The thing about the Braves is, this team isn't the most talented. But, if the first two games are any indication, they're going to hustle and battle and fight every night.
And watching a bunch of overachievers, even if they don't really achieve all that much, is going to be kind of fun to watch. Especially when we've spent the last few seasons watching more talented teams underachieve.Comment

Who cares what the Braves were/are supposed to do. It's been fun watching them these two games. I hope this is an indication of things to come, but we're on step 2 of 162.
You never know. Each season writes itself. This one has started a lot better than I expected and I just want to enjoy the ride.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Number of times the Braves scored 12 or more runs in 2014:Spoilerone
It's early and this team will struggle to score at times, but this is a much more enjoyable offense than the swing from the heels garbage we've watched for 3 years.
BTW - 100% agree about already being tired about the Braves announcers gushing over groundouts...it's ridiculous already."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

I agree that they probably won't continue to win, but it does show what can happen when you just put the ball in play.Comment

Man, that guy....I really wish he fulfilled his potential but it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I mean, he's only 25 but still.Comment

Thought I'd get to see Kimbrel...AGon has other ideas."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment
