agreed. they still had to board up their homes and make sure things were taking from outside so they wouldnt be projectiles that could kill people staying behind. i agree with the drays in trying to board up their homes and just hope for the best. in this case baseball comes last b4 safety and their possessions.

I don't think a forfeit will be given but, chances are the game won't even matter and won't even be played.

Some people have been in Yankee Stadium since 11 AM which is pretty crazy but, the Yankees were nice enough to give them another free game and free hot dogs and soda.

The things is the D-Rays are more fortunate than most in the area because they had the oppurunity to take them... their families... and their friends on a plane to NY BEFORE the hurricane hit... keeping them in complete safety. The real reason they satyed is to protect their house.

How is being there going to stop your house from being flooded? Its going to happen whether their there or not. It would have been much more logical to take their familis on a plane to NY and out of harm's way.

TB really dropped the ball on this one.


And I should know... I had tickets to the doubleheader... my only tickets for the year... went... found out game 1 was cancelled... came home... and now I have to go back later.

The Yankees front office is weak for doing this -- i think that the players made the correct decision to be w/ their family during the disaster - i dont hear anyone talking about the dolphins, who flew back to be w/ their families after a preseason game.. The Yanks (front office) should be embarrased by this manuver trying to get a forfeit win..

At any rate, the Yankee front office is acting rediculous. Chances are, the game won't even be played because it won't be necessary come the final day of the season. They sound selfish for claiming to be inconvenienced about playing one game today instead of two and having to make it up (if necessary) at the end of the season when their opponents are facing a far greater inconvenience. Shut up and play baseball, just because you were inconvenienced does not mean you deserve a free win.
