Dallas keuchel is good if anybody wasn't aware. 8 scoreless against the royals tonight, 9 scoreless last time against the yanks.

Pretty good last year as well, sub 3 ERA. As far as how he pitches, glavine pitched the same way for years and he did pretty well for himself.

I think Keuchel is a stud...and will continue to pitch like one. Several posters on this forum have continued to say he can't sustain it...and yet he continues to.

They probably just see a 90 MPH fastball and write him off.

Several posters or one posting several times?

I lose track...it's been posted so many times that I don't even know if it's the same guy or not, but it seems after every Keuchel start there is a post about 'it's not sustainable'.

I've only used the word unsustainable like once. Anyways Keuchle is good not taking anything away from him. But his extremely low BABIP is concerning. I don't think he's a sub 2 ERA pitcher, sub 3 but not sub 2, very few are.

In other news Montgomery continues his dominance taking a no no into the 7th. Lets see if he continues his success his 2nd time through the league. We have some decisions to make once Iwakuma and Paxton return. I expect Elias, and Nuno to be optioned and Happ to move to the pen but of coarse Jack Z will likely make the wrong choice.

Chris Sale: second pitcher ever to strike out 10+ batters in 8 consecutive starts.

                          The other? 1999 Pedro.

Keuchel is an extreme groundball pitcher with a .230ish BABIP. Granted, the Astros playing the shift more than any other team in baseball is somewhat responsible for that (along with Keuchel being very good at inducing weak contact), but it's something that he can't keep up.

Not a knock on him since he's a great pitcher, but you can simultaneously be great and still undergo some regression.
