Being an A's fan must be torture these days. Their win% in one run games is historically bad. I'd be bashing my head in watching that team.

Anywho, the Jays are off to Chicago and hopefully yesterday was the game that gets them back on track.

Somewhere around a week ago I read that if they had won half of those one run games they'd be tied for first.

It sucks because they're not playing bad ball now. They're winning series but the hole has been dug so deep it's too late for them to climb out of it.

This explains the Red Sox to a T. They are still 6 games out AND under .500. Now there games this week include Miami and the Yankees. For me, personally they need to win at least 1 game against Miami and they need to sweep the Yankees in order to have a shot at making the playoffs.

Smart move is to trace Clay now before he falls off again or his value diminishes. Not that the team will do that. But they should.

Keep in mind we're in a pretty mediocre division, and are only 6 games out. We are also 5 games out of the WC, and ever since that 7 game losing streak, we are 12-7. Over the course of those games, we have scored more than 4 runs 11 times. Our offense seems to be clicking, it's just our pitching. More accurately, it's been Porcello and Kelly. I say we still have a shot, but these next 5 games are crucial.

Yea a 22.9% shot according to fangraphs. Like I said it's .630 baseball to get to 88 wins, which is what the Yankees are on pace to do. I don't see us making the playoffs. They themselves too deep a hole. If they had played like this for the past month I would say there is a chance that they can make the playoffs but not right now. Also the others are going to probably going to get better as the deadline approaches.

I agree on the next 5 days being crucial. If anything all I want is a chance at the playoffs. Even if the Sox miss out give us meaningful games in August and September. I have no faith in that happening, but hope you're right and this team has a run in them.

Yea that's how I feel. I would love to have some meaningful games in August but I know if my head that's not going to happen.

The Cubs are just not there yet, and these two half-innings show it. Cubs get 1st and 3rd nobody out and don't score, Cards get the same situation and score at least 2 (inning is still going).

You HAVE to score at least one there.

7 straight home games against the two worst teams in baseball.

Good chance to build a huge cushion before the All-Star break.

UGH! Jose Reyes literally cost the Jays the game tonight. Let's put that aside for a moment though because as I watched this game there were 3-4 plays that he would've been able to make 2 years ago which he couldn't handle tonight. His decline defensively has been quite noticeable.

When Pedroia gets back, I only imagine this team getting better. We need to activate him before the AS break. Even if we miss the playoffs, we have a young talented core that will give us a few years of enjoyment and hopefully playoff runs. Mookie, X-man, Swihart, Holt, and E-Rod will all give us some great Sox baseball. Not to mention we will still have Pedroia and Ramirez (if he moves to DH).

Cubs Cards in a rain delay about to start back up....

Poor Cubs wasting an amazing start yet again from Lester with piss poor offense. Unreal, but I'm used to it by now.

O'Sullivan has also given up at least 6 runs in 3 straight starts. Brutal.
