    I would but that shirt.

Going to be an interesting rest of the series for the Yanks.

If it wasn't for Labatt, wonder if the team would've ever been called Blue Jays. Seems like so many of the names were people trying to suck up to them, hoping their entry would get chosen. Blue Sox was another name they could've went with lol.

Or if it wasn't for a USA Court...Toronto Giants would've happened.

Apparently, the name came from Paul Beeston waking up early one morning and seeing a Blue Jay in his backyard and he thought it was the perfect name for the team.

History would've taken a fascinating turn if the Giants had moved here. Could you imagine Barry Bonds in the Toronto market?!

Ya, that's what I heard too, but they did have a contest, so maybe Blue Jays was one of the names suggested and when he saw the bird, he thought it was a sign or something?

But looking at many other names suggested...there were horrible suggestions. If it wasn't for the internet,I'd have no idea Torontos nickname was even Hogtown, never heard anyone call it that, but Hogs were apparently a popular choice for both Jays and Raptors potential names.

Bonds wouldn't be in Toronto. Jays would've taken over Giants during the mid 70s. From 74-85 I think was their worst timespan in SF Giants history. So good thing Toronto didn't get that team. Though does always suck to think about first 10 years in franchise history, and how under a better playoff format,Jays would've been playoff team 3-4 more times in the mid 80s-early 90s run.

            Didn't realize this but ................

All 15 home teams won last night. First time in MLB history such a feat accomplished on same day.

I've been to MLB, NFL, NBA, college football, and college basketball games.

Nothing beats going to baseball games though. It's the best in-person experience in sports IMO.

Who'd have thought, a Jays-A's game on an August tuesday night would be the most watched game in Jays history(1.44M viewers, which is equivalent to Sunday Night Baseball getting over 10M viewers based on availability of Jays tv channel in Canada vs networks in USA)

You should try hockey, it's great to go to.

Of all sports I've gone to see, I'd say baseball is probably 1st,but hockey is 2nd. I've gone to football and basketball games too. Baseball you don't need to sit in a specific area to get great view of the game, unlike basketball/football where sidelines are the best view. Even hockey, sitting in seats behind the net are still great too cause the play happens against the boards behind the net as well,so you can still see action on your side.

When you're a Sun Belt guy who's never seen a frozen pond in his entire life, it's hard to get into a sport that's played on an ice rink...

                    My rankings of live sports:

                    Hockey
                    Soccer
                    Baseball
                    Basketball

                    Football

The top 3 are all really close. I actually prefer to go to baseball games by myself. Hockey with other big hockey fans. And soccer with anyone because the game is simple and the crowd element is the best. Basketball is entertaining enough, but TV timeouts are starting to become more pervasive to the flow of the game. There is basically no redeeming quality to going to a football game live over watching on TV for me these days.

Just imagine they're on roller blades or something lol.

But I'm sure others have similar mentality as you as well, yet a certain commish in the NHL is determined to put as many teams in warm places as possible thinking there's a huge interest all over.

Hockey games look fun to go to. European soccer games are probably really enjoyable just for the atmosphere alone.

But if I had to rate live sports as I've experienced them, baseball is tops for me. Like TellinTim, I would probably rate football (NFL moreso than college) at the bottom. If you're sitting at one end of the stadium, you're sometimes missing out on huge portions of the game.

Just mentioned on mvpmods. I wouldn't have taken and lost that bet that it never happened before.

                              I'd go

                              1. College football
                              2. Baseball
                              3. NHL
                              4. NFL
                              5. College basketball
                              6. NBA

Take that with a grain of salt. I've only been to one NHL game (last fall) and it's been years since I've been to an NBA game.

I'm also to the point that I prefer watching football (college or NFL) on TV.

I guess college sports is an american thing, cause I never see myself even being remotely interested in it and find it hard myself to really understand it's insane popularity. Even when march madness comes around,I only play brackets for fun,and just to see what my score is when I have no idea about any of the teams.

Same goes with the pride people seem to have with their alma mater. Something I never care about either, but that also plays into who people cheer for.
