Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
Mariners down 5-0, come back and make it 6-5 Mariners.
I'm not exactly expecting us to hold this lead, though.
Olmos has pitched nicely in relief of Montgomery. He's been horrible after he pitched those two shutouts in a row.Comment

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
With tonight's victory the Blue Jays are 15 games over .500 for the first time since the final day of the '93 season.
It's funny, I remember watching a segment of MLB-N and Billy Ripken was handicapping the Wild Card race in the AL (this was maybe a week or so after the trade deadline) and he was saying how it'd take 90 wins to win the 2nd Wild Card. He then goes on to say the Angels would win the 1st WC and be 10 games above .500. The teams battling it out for the 2nd wild card wouldn't be more than 10 games over because they hadn't shown that ability all season long.
I know there's plenty of baseball left but the Angels look like they're barely going to be 5 games over .500 much less 10 and the Jays and Yankees are not only battling for the division but those two teams have created enough space that if either one doesn't win the division they're almost assured of the 1st WC and being well above 10 games over .500.

I dunno...I must've contradicted myself?
Oh well, my point being is that the Jays and Yanks weren't expected to be 10 games over .500 and it looks like both teams will be over that mark.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Maybe something silly like a team winning 90 games would be 18 games over .500Last edited by Master Live 013; 08-26-2015, 11:27 AM.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: 8/17 - 8/30 Game Discussion Thread
I thought I had something along the lines with the numbers that Ripken threw out there. But they work. 10 games above .500 would be 91 wins. And 90 is only 9 wins above .500.Comment

81-81 = .500
86-76 = 10 games over .500
