Meh, I don't wanna start this, but I just don't believe the competition was as fierce back in the day. Not that Sandy Koufax would become Jeremy Guthrie if he played today, but for me Kershaw is the best pitcher for the dodgers of all time, and becoming one of the all time greats. And I hate comparing eras, but I just believe today's game is much tougher on pitchers in general, which makes it even more impressive that it's a pitchers league now.

2nd base umpire in the Dodgers/Padres game apparently has no understanding of the neighborhood play.

I have fantasies about the Cardinals facing Jim Johnson late in a playoff game.

My luck he'll be NLCS MVP or something.

I'm afraid you're mutilating this poor horse.

And the bullpen won't be as problematic in the playoffs as they are right now. They aren't going to keep getting BABIPed to death and Jansen will be used aggressively.

We're in a year not divisible by two, so yes.

20 pitches, no swings. 4 walks and 4 runs for Bryce Harper. Quite impressive (I know it is the Braves, still).

^And its first time in 100+ years anyone had done that(the 4 walks,4 runs part) without getting a hit!

Latos gets bombed (again), then mouths off to the media about getting pulled too early.

Why did we get this loser again?

Todays battle of the birds should be fun to see.

Bad blood between both sides. Multiple ejections & 18 hit batters this season alone between the two, alot of words exchanged on and off the field between guys.

And even some bad blood extending beyond their matchups. Donaldson-Machado created bench cleaning moment during A's-O's matchup last year. Jimenez(starter today) and Tulo got into heated altercation during Rockies-Indians matchup which lead to bench clearing moment(Today is first time since then, those two are facing off)

Guy seems to have crapped the bed everywhere he's been. Funny people like that can't realize that THEY ARE THE PROBLEM! Not everyone else.

Confirmed that Dom Brown got a concussion from that play and might miss the rest of the season. Sucks for the kid. This won't make it any easier for him to try to return to 2013 form.

                                So...

Ripken states he thinks his record will one day be broken.

Longest active streak in MLB is Machado at 132 games, 5.02% towards meeting the goal or 15+ MLB seasons.

I think we're safe for a long while, Cal.
