    9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread

Three weeks left and suddenly the Cardinals might not win the NL Central. Hm.

Also, AL West and Wild Card Gimmick Nonsense stuff. Other than that, whole lotta meh race-wise.

We are not much of a spoiler these next 2 weeks as we play the O's 6 times, Jays 3 times and Rays 4 times. Against the Jays we are going with Miley, Porcelblo, and AL Cy Young candidate (for last week) Rich Hill.

Man, if the playoffs started today, we would have the Blue Jays, Royals, Astros, Mets, Cubs, and Pirates.

      Incredible.

No matter what happens these last 3 weeks, the fact the Twins are 1 game out of a "playoff" spot is nice. Not bad for a team that has lost 90+ games the past 4 seasons. Things are looking up for the first time in a while.

Great story there in Minny. I am pulling for you guys, seriously. But not as a great as the 2012 to the 2013 Red Sox.

I'm all for Minnesota making the playoffs so long as New York doesn't.

Ya,jays, royals, astros, mets, cubs, pirates in playoffs. Its a good change.

Lol just watch, despite that,ws ends up cards vs yankees.

About 3 weeks till season is over! Gonna be interesting to see how some playoff pictures end up. Nl is decided for most part in terms of who's in,but al can still change.

I honestly thought the Twins were dead and gone when they had that huge slump in the middle of the season but they're proving to be a resilient bunch. I'm really pulling for them to make the playoffs as well.

If AJ Hinch and the Astros weren't such a huge story i'd give MOTY to Molitor.

I really don't care if the Twins make the "playoffs" this year, as they won't go anywhere. I'm just excited that they have a young team that could turn into something even better going forward.

The Royals haven't been looking too hot lately. After peaking at exactly the right time last year, did they go too early this year?

I've heard some say that the Royals may have gone a bit complacent because they had the lead in the Central so comfortably and for so long. The Royals thrive on emotion and thus the drive isn't there to play at their best.

Let's also remember that the starting rotation hasn't been as strong this year and they've been leaning on that bullpen quite heavily. That's going to take a toll on a team no matter how good of a bullpen they've got.

Possibly, but luckily for them, rest of division won't catch up unlike last year.

Last year they were behind by 8 games in July, then eventually took the lead and had a 3 game lead at one point. But then just played average baseball while others played better and just finished 1 game back by the end of that.

This year, they had up to a 14 game lead, and while it's slipping a slight bit, they don't have anything to worry about, unless they lose basically every game to end the season.

E-Rod with 9 K's through 5 IP, a new career high. Can't believe we traded 2 months of Andrew Miller for him.

This Nationals collapse is wonderful. Haha. Cody Asche ties the game at 6 with a 3-run bomb of Jordan Zimmermann.
