You can hate both Papelbon *and* Harper.

    I do.

Whatever, screw this worthless team and their dumb drama. There's better **** to talk about.

True. They're both big babies and both worthy of derision in various ways, BUT I was more commenting toward the "serves Harper right, Papelbon sure showed him how to play the game the right way" B.S. that I've been seeing/hearing. That, imo, is an indefensible position.

Absolutely loving this Giants/Dodgers game...the atmosphere is electric. The Giants won't make the playoffs this year, but their franchise is run so well, their ballpark is gorgeous, and thr fans are amazing.

Too bad it doesn't mean anything, but Giants won. Wish that cut it to 1 game back instead of 6.

If the Giants win tonight, I think it'll be much more interesting. Hopefully Kershaw can shut it down. But if it weren't for this dumpster fire bullpen, we would have clinched a while ago.

Players do what Harper did literally all the time. The only difference is they aren't as good or outspoken as Bryce Harper.

Oh, and they don't have Papelbon in their dugout running his fat mouth.

This is true but those who dog it like that aren't usually the face of the franchise. Someone (and I apologize not remembering) said a while back that the Nationals are coddling Harper like other teams have done with their mega superstars only to see it all blow up in their faces. Being in Toronto i've seen a classic example of that with Vince Carter which was a dream turned into a nightmare. As far as I can tell the Nats haven't quite gone to the level of talking to Bryce and asking him who he wants on the team but we've seen things like forcing Davey Johnson out, (though that was more of a GM/manager dispute) stopping Matt Williams' heavy handed discipline in taking Harper out of games due to not giving it his all and now this, defending Harper just because it was Papelbon that escalated it.

Trust me, if it was another team mate that went off on Harper there would be more people on the other guy's side. I'm surprised that the fans haven't turned on Harper yet because there are some markets where if the star player doesn't give it his all the heat starts to turn up on them. Again, being in this market I've seen the fans turn when the stars are just going through the motions or under performing horribly. (Examples in the 3 major sports: Carter, Kessel, Arencibia) I don't deny Harper's greatness but he really needs to grow up and soon or else he's going to get a reputation as a guy who courts drama and is more of a headache than its worth.

Ha....I can see that many on this board wouldn't want to work with me...and certainly wouldn't be in my FH very long.

Embarrassing loss by the Pirates last night. Having the bases loaded four times and nothing? Hopefully Piscotty is ok though, vicious collision.

I haven't seen many Nats games this year, is it common for him to not run out lazy fly balls?

If so, why did this incident all of a sudden occur? Didn't Harper call Pap out publicly for something recently? Did this stem from that.

Likely I would say....and in that way, it's a little suspect from Papelbon.
I don't really know Papelbons personal work ethic.

I'm sure plenty of guys don't run out the things(I think) they should....and if nobody(especially the manager or coach) doesn't call them on it...so be it. That's the level that team plays at.
But IMO....if someone does....and IMO they are right....the response should be ...."yeah...you're right" not jacking up and jawing back.
