That being said, he's definitely one of the greatest to have ever played the game, maybe the greatest ever.Comment

Re: call him a jerk and a jackass
Oh, because the media portrays him as a jerk I should believe he is one.
Got ya!
edit: I do believe you are being sarcastic. So, just know that I am too."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: call him a jerk and a jackass
Look I used to be critical of Bonds' attitude but let's face it Babe Ruth was a food cramming, liquor drinking, womanizing blowhard but he's considered one of the icons of the sport. Ty Cobb was a racist who beat women and forced them into sex while at the same time having a HOOOORIBLE relationship with his teamates to the extent that no one gave a hoot when he died. Last but not least Mickey Mantle was a drunk who got addicted to pain killers and such yet he's a beloved hero to Yankee fans.
Right now Bonds will be viewed as a surly, self centred jerk but 50 yrs from now he'll be respected as the greatest all around player of all time or at least in the modern era.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
