No way Hart moves Markakis this year without getting a significant haul back. You're right though - he'd have to be packaged together with a few other players.

The only players I see ATL moving are Cameron Maybin and Julio Teheran. I know Matrix is ready for Julio to be gone but...they are all young and under team control for a while.

EDIT: Mike Minor has yet to be offered a contract after shoulder surgery - deadline is 12/2.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Yeah well Mike Trout nor Clayton Kershaw are coming back so, yeah.

It's not a matter of being close to a World Series. It's a matter of having a critical piece already for a very long time. If you know someone would be a major component of a successful team, and you already have him locked up and he's 26 years old, it's absolutely stupid to even consider trading him. Yeah sure okay "listen" if you want but "deep in talks" for more prospect fetishization is absurd. I'll take the proven (to be GREAT) PLAYER a thousand times over. ALWAYS. And it's not a matter of Simmons being one of my favorite players either. He's at best second favorite now on the team and that's by DEFAULT. It's a matter of repeated, and in this case unnecessary idiocy. Enough is enough.

And just as an aside, the whole "not being ready to compete" thing was put to bed by multiple teams this year that achieved despite "not being ready." This isn't basketball.

Yes Simba value is all defense but it's not just defense I mean you could argue he's the best defensive player out there regardless of position and I think the offense is passable. To have that guy under control for 5 years Is tremendous Braves better get alot back here.

I don't want to trade him, BUT you have to listen to other team's offers...and if you get knocked over, it's the right move. It's our FO job to put together the best team/organization possible...they can't do that if they don't at least put our best chip out there.
Ok two years in a row of putting our best chips out there. Heyward, Kimbrel and now maybe Simmons? Hopefully he stays, but oh well.
