Steve Clevenger going to SEA. O's also hoping to get someone else back as well. Because they feel Trumbo may just be non-tendered later this week.

    Update on Miller:
Braves still want Pollock from AZ. AZ still rejecting and ATL countered with Miller and Vizcaino for Pollock and Aaron Blair. at the Braves asking for Pollock and the #3 prospect in the AZ system.

So the Red Sox think it's a good idea to basically give a 30 year old pitcher $1 million/start over the next seven years? Okay, then....good luck.

I'd much rather have 5 cost controlled years of Jorge Soler than 3 arbitration years of Shelby Miller. If Teheran could be had for something less significant than Soler, maybe a few prospects, then I'd be all over that.

On Price: man, I'm sure glad the Cubs didn't do that.

Without reading any posts in this thread, just a quick reaction to the Price deal.

First of all, I am oddly glad that the Cubs passed on him at that price. I've said it before, but top-echelon $$$ for 3 SPs (Price, Lester, Arrieta) would really hamstring the club going forward.

That aside, I like this a lot for Boston. They need an ace like I need a haircut (I really need a haircut).

Yea I agree with you on Price and the Cubs. I brought up that Arrieta was probably going to command a contract with Lester as a minimum (the 165) and probably around 180 or so as a max. And adding in Price at 200-210 wouldn't make sense for them.

Braves came back with Miller and Arodys Vizcaino for Pollock and Aaron Blair. AZ again said no.

Yea I posted about that earlier...I swear Coppolella has to be stupid. They already shot down Pollock for Miller straight up. And now he throws in Vizcaino, who I don't think is all that great, and wants the Dbacks 3rd best prospect (61 Overall) as well.

He's trying to trade YOUNG proven stars to build a farm system of B-level guys. Apparently, the goal is to win the championship in every minor league division.

It's like Coppolella is that 8 year old who just got into baseball cards...and is just trading because it's the cool thing to do.

If you are getting Pollock back you are getting a poor man's Jason Heyward.

They can afford to do such things.

It isn't my money, so it's no skin off my nose...but from a value perspective paying the man $1M/start is insane. He just isn't THAT much better than everyone else, IMO.
