No, first move... bench Sosa until they release him.

I would fire Baker and any other manager for that reason.

It's a no-win situation. If Baker or any other manager were to bench Sosa regularly then you'd see a firestorm from Sosa supporters. You'd also have to worry about the clubhouse as Sosa would almost undoubtedly throw a fit over not being in the field.

Oh, and you don't see the crowd throwing a fit and booing every time he comes up because of the expected strike out? The fans love him and hate him at the same time, but when he strikes out, ain't not one time have I heard a home crowd boo for a home player as loud as I hear when he strikes out (with the exception of John Rocker coming into a game).

Look, if I really cared about how Sosa felt, then I would expect him to understand how I feel about him trying to hit a home run every swing that he does... EVERY swing. If there's a situation where all he needs to do is JUST MAKE SOME DAMN CONTACT to stay in the game, he's going for the fences, that and beyond to Waveland Ave.

I would COMPLETELY understand if Baker sat him... and no, I'm not sitting him because he needs to cool down or something, or so it will maybe get him some rest, I'm sitting him because he does not deserve to be starting on that Cubs outfield, and statistics show. IF while he's benched he figures out that maybe he should start swinging 85% rather than 110%, then maybe he will be a much better player with a .290 average, maybe only 90 strike outs a year, and maybe he would only have 20 home runs, but I would like that Sosa much more than the .250, 35 home runs, 150 strikeouts Sosa that I see in today's game.

Well, Sosas supporters are generally considered to be women and kids. I dont anticipate that many kids will be calling into the radio stations.

Re: Do you think Dusty Baker will be fired?

I have resisted the urge to write about the cubs but am so embaressed about this year that I cannot hide it anymore. Dusty Baker should be fired tommorrow. I watch every game, listen to the radio shows where his comments are played every day. He is a complete bum and one of the stupidest mangers in cubs history.

He is now part of 3 of the biggest chokes in mlb history(giants vs angels), (cubs vs marlins) and this year. He has defended a bunch of crybabies and stroked their egos all year allowing whinning and excuse making to be normal. His comments are mindboggling like last year when he claimed latinos and african americans can handle heat better than whites because there worked outside as laborers. WHAT! And then he claims this year in August the heat is getting to his team. It was the coldest august in chi town in 70 years. He is so fake.

I could go on about his comments but I would be writing til tonight. His managerial skills are a damn joke. He makes 4 mil a year. No wonder the Giants didnt keep him. Wendell Kim cost the cubs games last year and this year and he refused to fire him. If we had a real 3rd base coach we would probably be in the playoffs. When A Ram came back from his groin injury, hes on second and someone lines a hit to the outfield. Ram is the slowest guy in baseball and hes hurt and this clown wendell sends him and hes out by 40 ft. He could have killed our best player for the year. And what does dusty do defend him.
Thursdays game he gets outmanged by dave miley . Prior is dominating through 9 with 113 pitches and is due up 3rd in the 10th. No brainer he comes out for the 10th cause your bullpen is swag and then you pinch hit for him. NOPE he takes him out. This means whoever comes in next only can go one inning cause you have to take him down the next at bats. So dempster does good in the 10th but thats all he can pitch. Remlinger pitches the 11th and everythings cool, but then the 12th.

Steve Stone is awesome. He forgot more about baseball than dusty will ever know. He states before the at bat the dunn has killed rem going 5 for 6 against him, rem cant get lefties out for nothing and stones like he has to get him out somehow knowing this is a terrable move. Dunn is 1 for 9 agianst farnsworth. He leaves in rem, 1st pitch basehit. Then he doesnt hesitate to bring in farns. wtf? anyway farns doesnt even look at dunn and he steals second. What is bum doing in the dugout, its like he doesnt even care or know whats going on. So this valentin dude comes up and stone says walk him cause some 180 hitting bum is next and the only pinchhitter they have left is wanderwal who is 1 for 30. What does the great fraud do, nothing. DOuble off the wall, the season is over.

So Steve stone asks him about his strategy in the 12th after the game and he gives some fake bs answer. Stone who is doing his job doesnt accept it and questions him again and dusty gets mad feeling he is being attacked. Kind of like when kent merker attacked chip and steve and you did nothing about it. Damn hypocrite! And then stone bashes him on the radio for coddeling(sp) these crybabies and dusty is like why are you attacking me. But when Moises says the umps are after him and everybody questioned the comments, dusty says he has a right to freedom of speech. Where is stone's freedom of speech you stupid clown.

Well thats all I could keep going but I am hungry and want to look at the rest of the site while I eat my cereal. I am in my late 20's and went to my first cubs game in 83. I follow this team very closely and am not making this crap up. Dusty is so damn fake its comical and he needs to go. They will never win the title with this clown as manger. Is it all his fault, no not all all but its the majority his fault. Jim Hendry is to blame too for putting an American League swag softball team on the field who either homers of whiffs. Bullpen is sad too, that Jim's fault. Oh well I am sure I will get bashed by some of you, and that is cool. Just my opinion. Dusty you SUCK!

Dusty won't be fired, but Stonie will. But hey, at least the Evil Tribune company had over 3 mil in attendance this year! Woopie!

This team is repulsive, and Dusty is the enabler to the dysfunctional. "Players Managers" usually end up on their butts eventually. But not this year. He'll be around at least until after next year if not longer.

please. Dusty Baker is a great manager, the Giants were stupid to get rid of him. all he did was win for the Giants and they get rid of him. Same goes with Terrell Owens and Shaq. Whats up with these California GM's, I'm sick of it.

dusty wanted about 5 million a year, and giants didn't want to pay that much.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.
