please. Dusty Baker is a great manager, the Giants were stupid to get rid of him. all he did was win for the Giants and they get rid of him. Same goes with Terrell Owens and Shaq. Whats up with these California GM's, I'm sick of it.

dusty wanted about 5 million a year, and giants didn't want to pay that much.

I hope the Cubs keep the guy. I'd hate to endure a season with him as the Orioles manager. He's just the kind of overrated, overpriced guy Peter Angelos would love to hire.

You're exactly right. Teams that don't field well, aren't patient at the plate, get thrown out on the bases, or bunt in the wrong situations (Nomar) usually end up losing in October. You can get away with that stuff when playing bad or mediocre teams, but in the playoffs against the best teams, you have to play fundamentally sound baseball. Baker doesn't seem to bring this to his teams. I think the Red Sox have problems in this area as well, and I think it will hurt them at some point.

He did all he could for this team, made them contenders, they just flat out choked. Dusty can't go to the plate, the mound, and field for them. It's unfair to blame him for the leaders of the club not stepping up when it mattered the most.

He did all he could for this team, made them contenders, they just flat out choked. Dusty can't go to the plate, the mound, and field for them. It's unfair to blame him for the leaders of the club not stepping up when it mattered the most.

He can however stop covering for his players mistakes. You think the Sammy Sosa thing just happened in one day? When players make mistakes fielding, baserunning, etc. He says they are just being aggressive.

When players constantly bitch about broadcasters not being fair and actually call them DURING the game and complain about umpiring conspiracies against them he needs to tell them to shut up and play ball. Not defend the immaturity and selfishness that prevades this club.

Someone needs to stand up in the locker room and tell them all to shut the hell up and win a damn baseball game. If not the manager then who?

Someone also needs to choose a third base coach that doesn't send Aramis Ramirez on shallow fly balls to Jim Edmunds. If you are the leader then you bear responsibility.

I agree, but I'm saying, you can't exactly blame him for his teams collapse at the end of the year. Sure, he may cover for his players a little too much at times, but that's what makes him so easy to play for. I'm sure most Cubs players would have it no other way.
