    Re: Yankees-Red Sox ALCS Thread

The BoSox seem to pull Pedro right after 100 pitches. I saw a stat a few days ago that showed if Pedro goes over 105, he starts to lose it. Pedro was quoted as saying he doesn't lose any MPH off his fastball after 100 pitches, but his arm gets tired and he lowers his arm angle which leave his pitches flat.

So he'll be out after the 7th - assuming he can make it through that inning without much trouble. I don't think Boston wants to go down by another run with Rivera waiting.

You're right there, but the publications that I've seen that picked the Sox have said the Sox have the advantage as far as starting pitching is concerned. The Yanks have handcuffed the Sox, bigtime.

The ones that picked the Yanks have hit the nail on the head though.

I think the reason people gave the starting pitching edge to the sox is because of the 3 and 4 starters. I don't think people ever questioned Mussina and Lieber all that much.

As bad as Damon has looked tonight, he's really looked good this AB fighting off pitches that he can't handle.

Even though Lieber won the battle, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Red Sox offense start to wake up against Lieber. They really saw alot of pitches in that Damon at-bat.

                      But Lieber strikes out Bellhorn...

Unless the Sox can start stringing together hits in the late innings.. I think they might have trouble with the 3 and 4 starters in Fenway.

wow, great at bat for Damon. Leiber is pitching great though, and even after that at bat, his pitch count isn't bad at all. Hopefully he can go 8. I don't have much trust in Gordon anymore.
