    Re: Yankees-Red Sox ALCS Thread

Stayed up all that time to see the Yankees blow it.

I pretty much expected Ortiz too do that. Quantrill vs. Ortiz isn't a good matchup at all.

Oh well, I still gotta feel pretty confident about the Yankees chances to win the series, hopefully tonight.

I watched until the end as well...I can't see the Yankees blow a 3-0 series lead, but you never know, stranger things have happened. For that to happen, Pedro has to be on his game, as well as Schilling, and then possibly Lowe again. I can't see that, being realistic.

One thing about games being really long, eventually the bullpens would start to wear out, like last night I think Boston was nearing the end of who they had left, Wakefield was warming up I think. Once that starts to happen the game will usually be over fairly quickly, hitters don't tire as much as pitchers, and one mistake pitch can end a game.

I went to bed in the top of the 9th, thinking the game was locked up with Rivera pitching in the bottom of the inning...

            Oh well.

Classic Ortiz. It seems like every time he has a chance to win a game and doesnt (9th Inning) he comes back later and does. This is one of the many reasons Grady Little is no longer the sox manager. He would always put in a defensive replacement or pinch runner for Ortiz and sure enough Ortiz's spot in the lineup would come up in a clutch situation.

I think for the Red Sox to end the curse, something insane is going to have to happen. What better than coming back from 3-0 to beat the Yankees.

                        Won't happen though...
