Mussina pitched Monday. I doubt they'd pitch him on 1 days rest. It looks like it will be Lowe vs Brown, Vasquez or El Duque.

I disagree with that, and I live with thousands upon thousands of Yankee fans at home. It's just the media perception, agenda setting and what not. The media is who makes The Curse seem over done. There are hundreds of signs at every playoff game, it's FOX that chooses to repeatidly show one's relating to The Curse. The don't show the "Hideki is my Hero" sign becuse it's boring. It's the NY media that decided to The Babe on the cover of the post. If you ever take a Comm. class in college you'll learn all about it, it's pretty interesting stuff.

Bottom line, no true Yankee fan really believes that The Curse is why we've owned the Red Sox.

I agree. Its the same thing in Boston. No real Sox fan believes in the curse. In our eyes its the creation of CHB who wanted to boost his book sales. He is an extremely negative writer and unfortunately gives most Red Sox fans a bad name.

EDIT -- sorry i'm used to sons of sam horn message board where CHB stands for Curly Haired Boob (Dan Shaugnessy)

Exactly, I didn't hear one kid up at my school last October crying, "*** **** Babe Ruth!!" after Boone's homer. It was, "What the fluck was Grady Little thinking in the 8th?!"

I guess if you're not a fan of one of the two teams in and in the thick of it all you just can't understand it.

So last year's ALCS game 7... after the win, both clemens and wells goes out to monument part to "toast" the babe. i do agree that it tends to be the media that overplays(ed) this curse thing to the bone, but from what I'm seeing, the fans have completely taken off with it. Just my perception, but then again, I don't live in NYC.

That's totally different. Both David Wells and Roger Clemens walk out to Monument Park and touch Babe Ruth's plaque before every game they start. Regular season, post season, whatever. They did it even when they weren't on the Yankees. Watch a game from when the Rocket was on the Sox or Blue Jays, he has ALWAYS paid homage to Babe Ruth before every Yankee Stadium start.

Ruth is both Wells and Clemens favorite player of all time. And I'll bet you a decent amount of money, that after every post season series the Yanks have clinched at home that Wells and Clemens have gone out there and toasted to The Babe, just FOX never had any reason to show it on television before last year's ALCS.

Interesting fact. I never realized this. Amazing how much the media can twist things around and make events fit into their storylines.

I agree with you to a point. Do I think theres an actual "curse"? nah not really, but sometimes I feel as if the Red Sox players have so much pressure on them to finally beat the Yankees after so many years, that in a way the "curse" does live.

What im basically saying is that the curse lives as long as they let it live in their minds. These guys are all awesome mentally. you have to be mentally tough to be a major leaguer.. but you dont think that Tim Wakefield is on the bench in the top of the 11th thinking "i gotta make sure I hold them down, or people in Boston will look at me the way they look at Buckner." As a matter of fact, I know for a FACT that he said that after the game. Its all added pressure that affects everyones game.

So do I believe in a "curse", as in ghosts and aliens, no.. no I dont. But a mental curse... there might be some truth to it. The way these guys have lost in the past just leave me speechless! I may be 100% wrong, but as a diehard Yankee fan, those are my 2 cents.

Also.. I am not taking anything away from the actual talent on the field.. thats just crazy.
