i wouldn't trust pedro for too much longer, but then again i don't have the money steinbrenner has. The sad thing is the yanks will continue to do this as long as they yanks continue to make a profit, which will be for a while. This team is better almost better then an All-Star team. Also, i wonder if olerud will retire after this year, without him its possible yanks could be tied with the red sox or possibly even losing.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

are you kidding me. olerud is not the difference between us being better then the crapy sox. the sox lack heart and talent. they have regular season talent vs crappy teams. the yankees have class and are champions. olerud will be gone cuz giambi will be back/ the sox will not and if they come back will just sweep them again

                      Re: Yankees-Red Sox ALCS Thread

I would honestly be a lot more scared of what that psycho George Steinbrenner's capable of.. if the Yankees don't win the title.

I imagine if they do, the Yanks'll probably get Beltran and sit pretty..

                      If not.. look out.

It's weird.. Steinbrenner's the exact same guy he was in the 80s when he was also doing the big spending, but the Yankees stunk and he was vilified. Now that the Yanks are winning, he's untouchable. It's like people forgot all about his 'lifetime ban' and the Howie Spira situation. The difference now is the Yankees have smarter scouts and front office guys than they did back then. they should get a lot more credit than some fat criminal blindly throwing out cash. Heck, a good chunk of the championship team was built during the time that 'lifetime but really two years' ban was in effect. I just hope because of the ban Steinbrenner ends up nowhere near the Hall of Fame.

Well.. I shouldn't say blindly throwing out cash.. thanks to those scouts, he's hitting a heck of a lot more than he was missing.

I think being a Mets fan is better! The Mets won two titles since 1918 at least! Though recently the Mets are just going through the motions(to put it kindly).

I think the current Mets should sue. The Sox are stealing the Mets relatively recent gimmick of going through the motions when it counts the most!
