The Nationals have had the most favorable first month of the schedule I have ever seen. No wonder they look so dominant right now.

      2 @ Braves
      3 vs. Marlins
      4 vs. Braves
      3 @ Phillies
      4 @ Marlins
      3 vs. Twins
      3 vs. Phillies

They don't see any good teams until a week from now when they get the Cardinals, Royals, Cubs and Tigers in a row. Wow.

        1. Anyone know what Scott Feldman is up to these days

        2. He's not Dexter Fowler but I love what Joey Rickard is doing right now. Doubtful it all holds up but he is playing great as the leadoff man and in LF.

The Reds had the longest current streak without being no hit in the regular season. Now it's the A's, haven't been no hit since '91.

June 23, 1971 by the Phillies. Funny enough, the previous longest was the Cubs at 7920 games, ended by the Phillies.

The Padres are the only team to not throw a no-hitter, sitting at 7468 games.

I don't think the Padres will ever throw a no hitter.

Well I don't think Arrieta would be having the same success in Baltimore because he wouldn't have made the adjustments that Bosio suggested. He moved Arrieta to the 3rd base side of the rubber and lowered his arm slot. I think it was Mark Reynolds who said that he had the best stuff on the team when they were both Orioles. The rest as they say is history.

The Arrieta trade looks like the greatest fleecing ever but if you really think about it, he was a guy that struggled throughout his career. I doubt the Orioles thought he'd turn out to be one of the 5 best pitchers in the game.

Normally I think a fan entering the field of play is about the dumbest thing (relatively) a fan can do. But here, something about this guy's sheer, involuntary joy is infectious. Doesn't seem like he's going for attention and he's clearly not a threat. I can't stop laughing.
                            It's hilarious to me that:

Only one cop was there trying to do his job.
Fox couldn't shift the camera to somewhere else
As soon as he touched Arrieta's hat, the fan was like: "Ok, we can go now."
...and that he'll likely be on ESPN today

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

All 27 outs....there's usually at least one defensive gem that saves these, and I think the closest we got to that was Rizzo robbing Votto in the 4th. Bryant's two-hopper in the third was also nice. Not many hard-hit balls.

They only had 7 balls reach the OF not including fouls.
