And Greene left for Detroit too the next half inning. Crazy.

Yeah, Greene was blooding up the ball, probably a blister.

Heading to the Padres/Cardinals game today. Absolutely perfect day for a ballgame here.

OBP is over .350 and SLG is over .500 and OPS is right at .900 man. Batting average is for geriatrics.

Aaron Blair looks decent so far...he reminds me of a young Aaron Harang from his build and the way he's pitching. That's not the worse thing in the world.

It's a good thing the offense has shown up to help him out in his debut here.

The offense hasn't shown up all year...why would it be different today?

......http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/...sset_1800K.mp4, can't embed this one for whatever reason but Simmons with an unreal play last night. I'm all too familiar with it, but I just don't get how he could throw it quite that quick and have it be that strong and that accurate. Boggles my mind.

Good point with OBP in particular, because that's not just Rizzo. The Cubs have drawn 93 walks this year which is far and away the best in MLB. The Pirates are 2nd with 77.

Averages for the whole team look down across the board, but yeah - they're not having any problem getting on base.

When teams are peeing in their panties at the thought of having to pitch to them, drawing walks are the best you can do in some plate appearances. Joe Maddon managed teams ALWAYS walk a ton and now that he's got the best offensive team he's ever had the pleasure of managing, well, they're going to walk at a historic rate. Once they walk a batter or two, then they're forced to pitch to batters and BANG. Just look at how much they are scoring. It's awesome to watch.

Braves with a late inning rally? What's going on here??

Well, half-rally - Familia is wobbly but gets the save after giving up a run in the 9th.
