    Barry Larkins Future?

What do you think will happen since he is out of Cincy? Retire? Another team?

Hoping he will goto the Giants as the backup to Deivi Cruz since i'm hearing Cody Ransom is on his way out after being the 'Glovesman' of the giant and then screwing up a routine play that ended our season.

I'd say that he gets on for a team but it def wont be as a starter or for anywhere near top dollar.. maybe a mil or so but not much more.. i do wish him luck.. he is def one of the good ... great players that will be remembered for all he was in the game..

Omar Vizquel also appears to be heading the way of free agency. The Indians declined to pick up his 2005 option and Mark Shapiro, Indians GM, has said that it's very unlickely he'll be back with Cleveland.

I wish "O" nothing but the best mainly because he's my favorite player and it'll be sad to see him go. Hopefully he can leave with another Gold Glove.

Larkin's probably going to retire unless a contending team gives him a starting spot.

It's sad. I love Barry, and I hate to see him go. But on the other hand, I know it will be better for the team in the end. He was told earlier that he would have a front office job with the Reds if he wanted it, least that was the rumor. Perhaps he will go that route. He is Mr. Cincinnati Red, and he will be missed on the field.

It is sad that Barry is being essentially pushed out of Cincy. It would be nicer if the Reds kept him on til he wanted to retire. I do understand the reasoning for this tho. I think he'll retire unless a good team picks him up tho it'd be real hard for me to imagine Larkin in anything but a Reds uniform.

I think some team will. Why not add another SS to the Yankees infield and play him at 2B?

What's sad is the Reds didn't even have the decency to tell Barry face to face. They did it over the phone. NOW THAT'S SAD. Here's a guy who has been there for the Reds organization thru thick & thin. Has represented the Reds both on & off the field for his entire career & you give him this type of news over the phone. The Reds Organization should be ashamed of themselves.
