Read that Fredi Gonzalez found out he had been fired when he received a flight confirmation for a flight reservation from Pittsburgh to Atlanta for this afternoon...way to go! Can't win baseball games, can't fire the manager correctly...the rebuild is on schedule.

Too bad they didn't keep him on a bit longer in the hopes that he might channel Phillip Wellman as the losses continued to mount.

Chase Anderson no-hitting the Cubs thru 6 at Miller Park.

        Consider yourself jinxed, Chase.

I feel like the Jays are on the verge of some major house cleaning. Two straight nights allowing 10 runs or more to the Rays of all teams?!

          "sigh"

It's gonna be a LOOOONG season.

I don't understand what has happened to them though...they lost Price, but a full year of Stroman should make up for that. They are not much different than last year's AL East champs...why the scuffle so far?

Chase Anderson strikes out Rizzo looking with a filthy fading change up to end the Top 7 and heads back to the dugout after 7 no-hit IP.

Troy Tulowitzki has been an embarrassment since he got there. Bautista, Encarnacion, Martin all getting up there in age.

There BP is also atrocious and theyre managed by a dumb****.

I have a man crush on Mallex Smith...just turned around a 99 mph fastball for his second homer of the year...Braves have turned it around from 9-0 and now trail 11-9.

In pre-season, pretty much every non-Jays fan thought their pitching staff was going to be extremely mediocre at best. They were giving 80% of their starts to Dickey/Happ/Estrada/Chavez/Hutchison and counting on an 891 run encore from the offense this year and it's not happening. They're 8th in the AL in runs scored after one of the better offensive showings in a decade last year. Their pitching isn't good enough to move the needle from a very mediocre team.

Actually, the starting pitching has been excellent (with the exception of the last 3 games) it's the bullpen and the lack of offense that's killing this team.

BTW i'm also on the bandwagon to get rid of Gibby and I think if this continues into the All Star Break he'll be out of town.

                                So far...so far...

As the season goes on, the pitching staff will find their level (which is about 9th in the AL) and the offense will pick it up some. No idea if that combo will be a winning one for them or not, but the AL wild card spots are going to be wide open all season.
