    Re: 6/13 - 6/26 Game Discussion Thread

After a bit of a soft month so far (D'Backs, Braves, and Phillies), the Cubs get into a very important stretch here...a couple more games at Washington, then a 6-game homestand vs PIT and STL before going on another road trip.

With the Cardinals showing some signs of life, now is the time to step on their throat and make them play for the Wild Card. If the Cubs play their cards right (pun?), we may have a 10 game lead in the NL Central heading to July. If they don't, it becomes a real race.

Here's hoping the Jays can bounce back from the classic letdown game last night and get back on track this afternoon especially on a national audience on MLB-N.

Well, apparently you're getting Zach Eflin on Tuesady. And who is Zach Eflin?

          Damned if I know.

Hoping the Cardinals can extend their winning streak to 6 games tonight vs the Astros.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Pete Rose's comment about Ichiro's career hit 4257 was excellent.

Things did not go so well for Mr. Eflin.

Not a good debut for Zach Eflin.

                  2.2 IP, 9 hits, 8ER, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts, 3 home runs allowed.

                  Ouch.

Yep, the Jays tend to do that kind of thing to raw rookies.

Yeah, I mean let's not take anything away from Ichiro, but if we're counting his Japan hits, we need to count Rose's MiLB hits as well. According to B-Ref, Rose had 427 minor league hits bringing his total to 4683.

Now, Ichiro getting to 3000 after debuting in the States at 27 years old is nothing short of amazing.

If you want to know why the Braves suck then look no further than that last inning. Down 3-1 they load the bases with no outs and then AJ and Mallex try and compete for the worst at bats of the night.

How do you lose when you give up 3 hits all game?

                              Astros win in St. Louis.

I'm only posting this so this thread will show up in my Participated feed on Tapatalk.

Is there a particular reason that we need a new thread every 2 weeks? Seems a little pointless but what do I know?
