Cardinals taking it to the Cubbies right now. 7-0. Arrietta knocked out.

Hanley hitting 7th tonight...maybe Farrell does have...never mind this was Luvollo's idea.

With a home sweep at the hands of the Cardinals, apparently the Cubs are leaving it to the rest of the NL to beat STL while the Cubs beat everyone else. Justin Grimm continues to make the case to be optioned to AAA with another poor outing and the Cubs are showing a real need for bullpen help.

It's not completely random though. Teams with good managing, a good bullpen, and with hitters that can make contact all help out in close games.

Cardinals pull off the sweep of the Cubbies in Wrigley. Number at 9 1/2. Can we really really get back into this race?

I'm really on the fence too, is this a great team? No. But is there enough there to make a run at a wild card, yes.

I would like to trade Chapman out of the bunch, and get some decent prospects in return, and then hold pat.

I really don't wanna deal Miller or Betances.

This team is three games out of a wild card spot, 5.5 out of the division. Should we really become sellers? I don't know.

If any team could do it, I wouldn't put it past the Cardinals.

Noah Syndergaard left the game today with elbow tightness.

I get this line of thought but the 5th wild card is a false hope that a lot of teams are going to fall for the rest of its existence. I'm sure there will be the odd team that makes a WS run from that slot but why bother when your roster is a stagnant as New York's?

The Yankees need to cut their fat and start over. Let the O's and Sox fight over the East.

Well I agree, if there's something too good to pass up, then yes pull the trigger. But my thinking is Chappie can net good prospects on his own.

Miller doesn't have to go, but I'd certainly listen. Same with Beltran.

They aren't in a terrible spot but they aren't in that good of one either. They can definately make a run for a wildcard spot but is it worth standing pat and not getting any prospects back for Chapman and/or Miller and maybe Beltran just to try to make a run for a wild card spot which theirs no guarantee they will get it? That's a no in my opinion. I just can't see this team winning the division and how would we buy? What do we really have to buy with besides Sanchez, Judge, and Meteo? I really hope the Yankees just trade Chapman and at least one other of the big three and Beltran if he keeps hitting. Can't really think of anyone else to move. I have a bad feeling the Yankees won't do it though. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the Yanks stay in contention and slip into the playoffs but I think it's best if they just become sellers this year. It's going to be a few years before the Yankees are real championship contenders again.

Pretty bizarre ending for the Dodgers walkoff.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

0-5, 5 Ks, Bill Buckner impression on the final play. Good job, good effort.
