The umps just want to extend their postseason drought.

Sure. I don't think anything he did was necessarily "wrong," either, but I was chronicling how it turned out that way in the result.

I thought I saw that Chapman hadn't been asked to complete any saves longer than 3 outs with the Yankees this season (someone can check me on that, but it would make sense due to Miller/Betances), and I believe this would've been his 2nd crack at that with the Cubs already.

I don't think we really need to go righty/lefty with Rondon/Chapman all the time. But I also don't think Maddon necessarily made the "wrong" choice this time.

Tom Verducci is an annoying piece of **** and he's ruining this Nationals/Giants game. I changed it to the Giants feed.

The guy's made like 8 different sarcastic comments about mound visits and pitching changes and "isn't this exciting?!"

I thought John Smoltz was the main Fox color guy now?

If Buck isn't calling the game then there's your answer but yeah, Verducci can be VERY annoying. He's a lot better as an on field reporter.

The Braves are being very Barves-like this inning.

Walk the bases loaded. Walk in a run. Botch an inning-ending double play. Hit a batter to drive in a run.

The most frustrating thing with the Sox is that our pitching is as bad as our offense is good.

I'm so done with Hunter Cervenka...they always pump him up, but there is a reason the guy was pitching in independent league ball - he sucks. I really hope that next year they put together a half decent bullpen. Having a rotation that goes 5 innings each night along with a piss poor bullpen is an awful combination to watch.

The Astros/Tigers game was great and the finish was unreal. I don't think I've ever seen a game finish on a infield single that was beat out.

That was painful to watch. Particularly after Ausmus tried to give Houston the game by refusing to even get anyone up and throwing in the pen in the 9th.

The pitching may be the undoing of the Red Sox this year. As crazy as it is, the Jays may very well be heading down the home stretch this year in a lot better shape than the two other AL East contenders as the rotation is lights out. The Jays actually have the 2nd most innings thrown by a starting rotation in the AL and that pretty much camouflages a weak bullpen though the additions have helped right now.

It should be fun to see what happens, right now both the Sawx and O's are trending in the wrong direction while the Jays are getting hot again.

2nd? Try 1st! By a long shot too. Jays rotation has pitched 30 more innings than the next closest AL team. Ironically,Jays starters got 0 complete games.

Jays and Indians got the top 2 rotations in the AL this season. No surprise, those are 2 of the top 3 teams in the AL standings.

Should be a fun stretch to end the year. Last year August-September was so special,October was icing on the cake, even if they didn't go all the way. If August-September this year is anything like that, gonna be so much fun. Final week of regular season too, Jays play O's and Red Sox. Imagine a Jays-Red Sox series to end the season, with playoff implications, and Ortiz final regular season game(s) at home.

Gonna be a fun pitching matchup in Toronto in less than 15 minutes with Aaron Sanchez facing Chris Tillman. Hopefully it lives up to the billing as is often the case a great matchup on paper often turns into a laugher.
