A little worried about our reconfigured bullpen though. Chapman will be fine, but Montgomery's been trash and Joe Smith was anything but good in his appearance today. In the playoffs, I want to see only Wood, Edwards, Strop, Rondon, and Chapman. All those other guys can start their offseason early.
I'm willing to give the new guys more leeway. It can't be easy to come to a team with the expectations like the Cubs and immediately perform well. If they're still struggling in a couple of weeks, then I'm with you.

It's not enough to set the NL record by the trading deadline; we have to gun for the all-time record by the end of August. Keep it going, guys!

That's why ballparks have text options for security so you can just sit on your phone like everyone else and rat out that jerkwad 3 rows down without him being any the wiser.

I can read that a dozen times and still not believe it. That might be the first time I've seen it in my lifetime.

JD Martinez goes dead center to give the Tigers the lead.

                  Detroit is coming for Cleveland.

I never even knew such a thing existed at games.

The Mariners gave David Ortiz the best retirement gift. And probably the only one he is going to care about next year. They gave a framed copy of his 1st professional contract. Along with 34 pounds of fish, lol.

Erick Aybar had 3 hits today.

I feel it's an almost guarantee it will never happen again this season.

Stupid Rangers. You're supposed to be the best team in the AL, but then you lose game after game vs the O's! We helped you guys out by beating Astros, least you could've done was beat O's for us.

Speaking of playoff race, Tigers now in the 2nd WC spot.

Things gonna get crazy in standings once the division matchups really start happening.

Gave it to the fan and took a photo with him. Nice gesture.

The nice gesture was mitigated by Votto looking like a jerk (to me, at least).

Made me immediately think of Bartman...I'll bet that's what Votto was either told or reminded of so he wanted to stomp that out quick.

I guess it's a little bit like Bartman, but there's a big difference b/t an early August Reds game--when the Reds are 20 game under .500--and a 3 run game when a team is 5 outs away from reaching their first World Series in almost 60 years. I don't think anyone was going to blow the Votto incident out of proportion enough for the guy to get death threats.

That said Votto's still kinda a d-bag for reacting that way
