I think theyll go after Pavano and either Clement or Lowe.

Re: The Boss looking for some Starting Pitchers
I think, other than Martinez, Clement is the best guy out there. I think Pavano was this year's Esteban Loaiza, though I don't envision his 05 to be as bad as Loaiza's 04, meaning he'll probably put up numbers comparable to Jon Lieber. Lowe had a great postseason but I wouldn't expect another 20 win season out of him but then again I didn't expect him to allow just 1 run over a span of 13 innings against the Yankees and Cardinals. I could also see the Yankees getting Russ Ortiz, they could use an innings eater in New York since none of their guys managed to go 9 innings last year. And yeah, they'd be stupid to trade away Vasquez for Johnson. I think Cashman will try and talk Steinbrenner out of any deals involving Vasquez. They have to give him until at least the trading deadline before thinking of dealing him.Comment

Re: The Boss looking for some Starting Pitchers
I think Steinbrenner gets the following pitchers:
Eric Milton
Brad Radke
Kevin Millwood
I don't think they have enough to get Johnson (even if it is Vasquez and Navarro). I have heard the Yanks might try to deal Giambi somewhere and go after Carlos Delgado.
Call it a gut feeling...but I see Pedro either going to DC or to St. Louis (they are looking or that big arm and will have a little to spend...I think the Johnson rumor is ridiculous for St. Louis...although I could definatly see them giving up Marquis, who is a headcase in my opinion)
Lowe goes to Detroit (where he grew up)
Pavano goes to Boston
Clement goes to Philly (close to home)Comment

Originally posted by MSRoble33Actually Clement is from Butler... that's just a little piece away from Pittsburgh. Hehe
But THAT'S wishful thinking that he'd come here.
The best 2 pitchers I faced from this area were from up north more. 1 was from Franklin. He threw 95-97. He was nasty, but came in after my HS had the lead so it didn't hurt us. The other kid was from Erie Cathedral Prep. He was in the mid 90's, but had nothing but a fastball so we ripped him pretty good.Comment

Originally posted by joebooI actually faced him in high school. He threw fairly hard (low 90's), but was WILD as hell.

I played HS ball with a kid that could throw in the mid-high 90's.. but he gave up on college halfway through his first year and is now hanging drywall for a living..Comment
