Re: 4/17 - 4/30 Game Discussion Thread
Agreed 100%...Phillips always takes the easy play and tried to make it hard. That's apparent...like I said though, that's who he is and he won't be here after this year anyway. Our "SS" on the other hand...holy moly, he looks embarrassingly bad."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Dansby Swanson
Braves #1 prospect
BA Grade: 65 (risk: low)
Batting: 60
Power: 50
Speed: 60
Defense: 60
Arm: 60
*based on 20-80 scouting scale and future projection rather than present tools
"...Braves scouting director Brian Bridges got to know Swanson well during the latter's high school career and loved everything the shortstop brought to the table at a young age. Rated by SL managers as the league's best defensive shortstop, Swanson has outstanding quickness and exceptional range, soft and steady hands, and above-average arm strength with excellent accuracy on his throws. He uses his intelligence and superior feel for the game to anticipate plays, which helped him lead all minor league shortstops with an average of 3.27 assists per game in 2016..."
Are you saying your scouting report doesn't match this one? lol
Could be that batting .125 is bleeding over into his defense. Both UZR and DRS have graded him about league average so far on defense.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

With Shelby Miller throwing 100 mph now, I bet the Braves are really regretting that Miller for Swanson trade......Comment

Re: 4/17 - 4/30 Game Discussion Thread
Terrible defense all over the place today. From the Padres' failure with Dee Gordon, to the Phillies and Braves and all those miscues and so on.
Garbage.
And yes, that attention-seeking is part of the reason I hate Phillips, his home run tonight notwithstanding.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 04-23-2017, 03:02 AM.Comment

I've always liked Shelby Miller and felt he was a victim of a lot of bad luck in a Braves uniform. It's nice to see him bouncing back from his dreadful first season in Arizona.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 4/17 - 4/30 Game Discussion Thread
I never heard of such a rule before....
Stroman was about to throw a pitch, the ump randomly calls time out of nowhere, Stroman still ended up throwing the ball, the ump then proceeds to send the batter to first base and eject Jays manager for arguing.....Comment
