    Re: 4/17 - 4/30 Game Discussion Thread

A's/Angels was 0-0 going into extras. A's score in the top of the 10th, Trout ties it up in the bottom of the 10th, and Calhoun walkoff single to win it 2-1 in the 11th. And Kershaw duel with the Giants to a 2-1 win.

And I ****in' fell asleep at 8pm.

    This angers me.

I don't mind this. You're right, it's definitely not random for everyone. But MLB protecting itself by checking red flag players constantly is a good idea.

As for Thames, it's unfortunate any success at the plate by changing mechanics is immediately disregarded as the result of PEDs.

Thames may very well be doping but it's also as likely he is not. Just enjoy the game.

          Here's a fun little stat.

          Most cycles among active ballparks:

          Fenway Park- 17
          Coors Field- 16

One opened in 1912, the other in 1995.

To me a job telling you you're subjected to random drug tests doesn't mean they're going to pull names out of a hat, it means you will have no way of knowing when the drug test is. In that context, it's not a lie. They could test the same person 8 times at random points in the year.

Either way I don't see a problem with it. If MLB was doing something they couldn't or even shouldn't do the MLB PA would be on it.

Doesn't hurt that the outfield in Coors is the size of an average dairy farm.

Yea it's definitely the employee doesn't know when it is coming that is the random part. And not selecting players.

Unfortunately this is the culture that the Steroid Era created. Jake Arrieta has gone through it the last two years, too. Hard to blame people for wondering, though.

Eric Thames' 8 homers vs Cincinnati is the most ever in a season for a Brewer against the Reds.

                        It's April 26th.

Both. From what I see, they do a blood test for everyone to start the year as a baseline, then everyone is subject to 2 random urine tests during the year with 400 random blood tests as well.

                          Pretty comprehensive IMO.

That can't be right...400 for one player in a given season?

The blood samples are in totality throughout the league. So after the year ends, 400 blood samples will have been taken and tested at random. My bad, I worded that terribly.
