Nah, you would want either. Strop is even worse.

Baez, Schwarber, Bryant. It's the right part of the order at least, until it goes past Rizzo.

Welp. Rizzo walks and either Strop or Hendricks hits.

            It's Hendricks.

I don't agree with Aaron Boone hardly ever, but he was 100% right there. Bryant needed to expand his zone and try to go yard.

Shame to let that comeback go to waste.

Wonder if there will be some roster moves before tomorrow's game to find some arms.

Haven't heard Starlin give an interview in quite some time, but his English has gotten better.

GG Yankees fans. Hopefully we'll meet again in October.

You'll likely meet again in July, the way the Yankees are playing and the way Cubs fans will vote.

I will be surprised if there are no call ups for bullpen arms.

Half of my wish came true last night. Now we need to wait to see if the marathon Cubs/Yankees game pays any dividends tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday.

What was my wish? LOL ... As a Rockies fan who faces the Cubs next, in the bottom of the 9th inning of last night's Cubs/Yankees game my wish was "I don't want this game to end, I want the game to go into extra innings, perhaps a deep extra inning game like 16 innings or so". As the bottom of the 9th inning transpired from no outs to one and then two outs, I kept thinking "How can this game end up tied after 9, what needs to happen for a comeback to occur but not a complete comeback". When the Cubs had someone on 3rd with one out, the scenario was clearly "Need a sac fly to score the base runner, but then that's it. Then Chapman needs to end the comeback". Well that didn't happen and before you know it bases are loaded with two outs and a tie game looked like it wasn't going to happen. Either Chapman ends the game or the Cubs get a hit and walk off as winners. Wait, Chapman then nails Rizzo on the first pitch (that must have hurt, but amazingly Rizzo stayed in the game) and the game was now tied and we go to extras.

Crazy game and I can't believe I actually watched all 18 innings as well. Cubs had a chance to win it (was it the 12th or something like that) when they had a base runner on 3rd and only one out. But they failed to produce and then as more innings were played, both teams set a major league record for the most combined strike outs in any game in history. 2400+ games a year for 150+ years and this game produced more strike outs than any other game ever played? Nuts. Not sure how much of it was because the batters were just trying to end the game in extras and how much of it was fatigue in the cold weather. But some of those guys were swinging at anything and everything no matter how far the pitch was out of the zone. Of course the ump wasn't helping either team. However I think late in the game when the Cubs fans turned on him, he made it worse for the Cubs batters. Some of his calls were still bad for the Yankees, but seemed worse for the Cubs.

Anyway, see you in the thin air of Denver tonight Cubs and remember only half of my wish has come true. The Rockies still need to take advantage of the situation by playing a good error free game, error free series. Only time will tell.

                              Encarnacion returns to Toronto today!

No doubt he's getting standing ovation along with the obligatory boos from "that guy" in the crowd wanting to be extra.

It's still early, but I feel that the Cubs have made the same mistake many champions have made - they assumed they'd get the same years out of their pitchers and for the most part held pat.

In hindsight, I think they should have at least tried to re-sign Chapman AND traded for Davis. At this same point last year they were 9 games better at 25-6...I think their offense will be fine, but the pitching, especially in relief, has been a step down from last year.
