Ugh Lackey
First 3 batters faced: HR, diving play by Russell on a missile in the 6 hole, diving play by Almora on a ball driven to the RCF gapLast edited by Jr.; 05-22-2017, 07:13 PM.Comment

Re: 5/15 - 5/28 Game Discussion Thread
It isn't simply about the constant chitchat, is about the fact that it seems quite obvious that ESPN has decided that the game by itself isn't good enough to carry around the broadcast.
It seems the strategy now is to fill as much time between pitches with material tangential to the game. Side by side photo comparisons of Aaron Boone and Bob Boone. It is the showing of the bubble gum bucket in the dugout and commenting on it, that one was charming the first 10 times they did it, now it just tiresome. It is about the constant shots at the broadcast crew, hey I saw them at the beginning of the broadcast did we come to watch them or the players?. It is about the constant "live look ins" at other games which then cut into the action the game you ostensibly are trying to broadcast (like literally cutting in, more and more by the time they have finished the live look in the action on the original game has already started).
This simply doesn't occur during NFL & NBA regular season broadcasts. If you want up the chitchat to 10 and keep the camera on the goddamned field that's one thing. If you rather show anything else than the actual ballgame then why the hell do the broadcast in the first place? (Money of course, but nothing wrong with having some dignity and bowing out if you can't make it work and keep the integrity of your product.).OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: 5/15 - 5/28 Game Discussion Thread
As a Rockies fan, I still like Tulo. But you Jays fans need to understand that as good as he may appear to be, he's made of crystal and he breaks easily. He's constantly getting hurt and it won't be getting any better as he gets older. No I'm not missing Tulo in a Rockies uniform anymore. Trevor Story and Pat Valaika (not to mention the little ninja Alexi Amarista) are filling in at SS quite nicely this year. As far as Donaldson is concerned, I am sure most teams would say who wouldn't want him on their team. But I can think of one team that is doing quite nicely with their own 3B, and don't need Donaldson to sell tickets.Comment

And **** Lackey. Still can't stand that guy
EDIT: Watching the Reds/Indians game since Cubs/Giants is in a rain delay... a bad interference call on Cozart just now and the Indians color guy is an idiotLast edited by Jr.; 05-23-2017, 06:32 PM.Comment

When's his contract up? This year or next year? Because that could be your answer, just trying a little harder because he wants that final payday.

Braves/Pirates game restarting at 9:50pm Pacific time after a 3 hour delay. Top of the 7th.
Ideal for me, really. Wish all games started at this time.Comment

Re: 5/15 - 5/28 Game Discussion Thread
This game is nuts. Braves go ahead 4-3, Pirates go ahead 5-4, and now Markakis tied it with an RBI double in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs.
And now Matt Adams wins it with an opposite field hit to score the winning run. Yowza. This dude's killing it.
Broadcast rights I guess allowed the extras in the Cardinals/Dodgers game to be aired in the LA area since the game was broadcast on ESPN. Boog Sciambi, Mendoza, and whoever the hell the other the loser was in the booth spent the entire 10 minutes I watched ****ting on extra innings and baseball in general, saying things like "if baseball fans really liked extra innings, then why do they leave?!" as well as constantly laughing irritatingly and not doing or saying anything of relevance. The game has now ended so they can now go home. How nice for them, being able to leave since they're not held hostage anymore.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 05-24-2017, 01:30 AM.Comment

I have to believe that some of the higher ups at ESPN are wanting to see these changes because every single broadcast they do now it gets pushed/mentioned."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment
