    Clement headed to Blue Jays?

Boy this would be a nice signing. I'm geeking out at the thought of a starting 4 rotation of Halliday, Clement, Lilly, and Bush.

Clement made 6 mil last season so I wonder what his price tag is.

Of course with this signing I would assume Delgado is gone and the Jays had trouble scoring runs even with Delgado in the line-up. I know the Jays have talked to Koskie's agent but there's no way he would replace Delgado's production alone. It's nice to see there's a glimmer of hope with the Jays potentially signing a quality FA.

Clement has been very underrated the past few seasons.

That's a very solid rotation..Clement is still fairly young(29) and has been good for the past 3 seasons...Any chance we can still trade delgado?do sing and trades occur in baseball?

Actually he's 30 (He's in the middle of his prime tho with ball players these days who knows what the prime is) I too am geeking out at the thought of that rotation. It'll be one of the most feared rotations in all of baseball but we still need to address the Pen.

I think this is all but a done deal as the feeling is mutual and Brad Arnsbourg is going to be our pitching coach. (apparently he had a good relationship with Clement) Looks like we're trying to follow the Braves model: great SP, somewhat shakey offense.

I think the guy is rather overrated. He's a walk machine and his ERA is nothing to write home about.

Umm you do know his ERA in the past 3 seasons has been 3.60, 4.11, and 3.68 right?

Back to Clement if he does get signed hopefully it's not until Dec 7th because I don't want to give up a 2nd round pick to get him.

Also if he signs I would look to trade Lilly while his value is at all-time high. Lilly has arbitration rights after next season and if has a similar season his price will be in the 6-7 mil range. They Jays on a 50-53 mil budget can't have Halliday, Clement, Lilly, and Batista making a combined 28-30 mil.

A perfect trade partner would be the Reds. They need pitching badly and I would like to see Kearns in a Jays uni. I would also hope to also ship Hinske to the Reds to play 3rd for them and give them a decent pitching prospect like Josh Banks for taking the contract of our hands.

If I was the Jays, I would be hesitant to sign him. Sure he strikes out hitters at a great pace but he absolutely melted down last year after the All-Star break. However, the Jays need somebody else in that rotation and he'd be a #3 in that rotation behind Halladay and Lilly.

Having watched him more and more frequently since he came to WGN, I have to say that, if I were a Jays fan, I would be excited, but still cautious. Last year was a good year for him, but he is inconsistent. Two years ago, not so good, lots of ups and downs.
The thing is that when he is up, he is very good, but his down games are ugly.
As a Cubs fan, I would like to see them bring him back; so obviously I think it is a pretty good pick up for Toronto...they just better find some bats, or a new division...
