Re: 6/26 - 7/9 Game Discussion Thread
The Tigers are reportedly open to listening to offers for Justin Verlander.
Cardinals option Aledmys Diaz to Memphis and call up Alex Mejia. We are just a hot mess this year.Last edited by countryboy; 06-28-2017, 07:06 PM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Kris Bryant helped off the field with a leg injury. I only saw the aftermath, so not sure if it was the knee or ankle, or what happened.Comment

...and now Kris Bryant has been injured. An apparent ankle injury...now sure how serious."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

No way! We need to keep him. He's chasing history--the most HRs allowed by a single pitcher in a single season. With 3 more given up tonight, he's now sitting pretty at 24 taters allowed (he allowed 23 all of last season). He's on pace to give up about 50 HRs assuming 33 starts.

Here's to another 108 years in the making! Hopefully it's not serious. Team is definitely taking on more and more water as the weeks go by with few signs of a return to last year's quality of play.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

More on the Montero situation..commentary from Theo and Joe Maddon:
The Cubs designated catcher Miguel Montero for assignment less than 24 hours after he blamed pitcher Jake Arrieta for the seven stolen bases Chicago allowed against the Nationals.
Probably better suited for off topic, but since the conversation originated in here...Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

High pop up down 3rd base line...as he caught it he stepped on the bag and rolled his right ankle pretty good. He couldn't even put weight on it...had to be carried down the dugout steps/to the club house."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. If this was the only time Montero spoke out, I think he's still a cub...even if it was disparaging. His words the day of the parade saying he should've gotten more playing team already showed what kind of teammate he is - I think Rizzo's comments somewhat speak to that as well.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Of course the Tigers are listening on Verlander. The guy is 34, is getting lit up and has 2 years at 56M and whatever he is owed for the rest of this year.
Maybe transitioning to the NL is next for him? Dodgers management are done with the spending binge but maybe they take a flyer? Rockies?OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment
