Trout is making closer to $20MM if you look at how the yearly salaries break down for 2017. His deal also bought out a couple of arbitration years.

And Anibal Sanchez makes $16MM. James Shields is banking $21MM. Sabathia $25MM.

$12MM/yr ranks about 40th richest salary for pitchers in 2017. Not a great investment, but not a payroll killing move either. Especially since it's only 1 year.

The Braves were probably hoping Colon could hold up for one more year, eat 175 innings and buy their young pitching another year of development without being thrown to the wolves. Maybe also hoping for a fat guy HR. That would make it worth every penny.

Yunel Escobar is an idiot. A pitcher isn't hitting you on purpose when it brings up the tying run late in a game.

Man awful news for Dustin Fowler. Ruptured his right patella tendon colliding with the wall in his MLB debut

Yea... talk about unlucky. Get called up, you think your dream is coming true. And then you're out for the season. Lol wtf.

Yunel has always been a hotheaded bonehead idiot throughout his entire career. The guy has some great talent but not much between the ears.

Sad to hear about that Yankees prospect that was called up. I hope this doesn't derail his future because baseball is replete with guys who were given a shot, suffered a big time injury and never really got that shot again.

At least Jason Coats and Charlie Tilson got into the game with the White Sox last year before getting hurt in their debut. Getting hurt before the game and having such a bad injury makes Fowler the new bad luck king.

It was during the game, just early.

After a nice win yesterday for the Cubs, they get blanked by Scott Feldman and the Reds. W/L/W/L looks to be the standard going into the ASB

No sustained momentum. We'll have to see what this team has in it when they get Bryant, Zobrist, Heyward, and Hendricks back from injury. Luckily the division is trying its best to keep pace with us.

June has been a nightmare for the Yankees. But beating down the Astros feels really good.

Man, the Jays are starting to fade and fast. They can't continue to keep losing like this if they really want to make a run at the playoffs.

In a season that has been marked by ineffective and frustrating offense at least there's one bright spot in Justin Smoak. I'm gonna have to get a hat and eat it because he's completely validated that extension last season.

Alex Wood got pissy because the Padres were relaying signs. What a douche. You don't want them to relay signs, do a better job of disguising them.
