Oh there's a market. Just not an inflated one. Any number of teams would love to take him on as a reclamation project. But none of them will give more than a couple mid tier guys. Other than the Cubs apparently.

Why are your takes always so bad? Serious question.

Quintana is like a cheaper Jon Lester. Seriously, compare their last 5 years worth of work and get back at me.

You've had some very uninformed takes before, but this...nope, this is one of them.

At least you found another way to bring up Seattle trading Adam Jones.

Yeah the "Quintana is mediocre" take is one of the funniest i've read in a while.

It's just weird because Quintana would be EASILY the best pitcher Seattle had since 2014 Felix.

Well except for when Taijuan Walker was the GOAT. You know, before he became such a bum.

I'd take that long-term controlled, guaranteed 200 inning mediocre workhorse any ****ing day.

Good for the Cubs. They would have done something like this regardless.

And I guess good for the White Sox, maybe three or four of their 25 prospects will turn out one of these days.

                            lol

Not really sure what I want the M's to do at this point. We don't have the prospects to comfortably get a controllable, long term starting pitcher like Gray (plus inter-division tax would make him cost way more), but I don't want to sell and take away from our core. I trust Dipoto with our roster. I would, however, LOVE to trade managers with any team in the majors or AAA. Anyone want a manager who still doesn't know how to manage a bullpen after a year and a half of managing in the MLB?

4.6 ERA says he's having a mediocre season. You don't buy high on a pitcher having a mediocre season, especially not knowing if he will ever return to form. And truth be told Quintana is a #3 starter. You don't trade away your future for those types. No matter how you look at it the Cubs could have gotten a lot more for what they gave up.

Meh, he's got a 2.70 ERA over his last 7 or 9 starts. He's trended back to what he was the last 4 years. And he won't be a #3 on the Cubs. He's 1b to Lester's 1a now.
