LOL Edwin Jackson. How does this guy have a spot on a MLB team at this point? And a rotation spot on a contender? This guy has been garbage for half a decade now. He can go on my list, with Jered Weaver, of guys that should please please please just retire already.

I gotta say I was mighty impressed by Cesar Valdez in his spot start for the Jays tonight. I think he's bought himself another start. He looked great out there especially when he went down with a side arm delivery. Honestly, he looked like there was no effort at all.
As for Sonny Gray it was a really good start for him but his self inflicted wound with the error and him being out of sync cost him. I don't think he did much to weaken his value at the deadline.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 7/14 - 7/30 Game Discussion Thread
Listening to Dodgers-Twins on LA radio and Charley Steiner is a tad too homertastic for my liking...
Yeah, the Dodgers are great this season, but he's mentioned that they're 57-0 when leading after 5 innings about a dozen times. Got the point the first 4 or 5 times, buddy.
When announcing the Eduardo Nunez trade, he also mentioned the Red Sox needed a 3B and the Giants need...everything. Bruh
Really makes me appreciate the Cubs radio crew even more--to me, Pat Hughes is the best radio pbp guy in the business.
EDIT: Now, Steiner is going position by position favorably comparing these Dodgers to the '98 Yankees. Oh, the eye rolling...Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 07-25-2017, 11:41 PM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 7/14 - 7/30 Game Discussion Thread
Steiner sucks but the other guys they have and have had on the broadcast, don't know who, are actually pretty good.
Edwin Encarnacion hit a no doubt walkoff grand slam against the Angels who came back down 7-0 to tie it up. Angels have to do something about this starting pitching. Wonder why they couldn't trade for Jaime Garcia. Certainly could have matched what Minnesota gave.
Boston/Seattle still in extras.
I really really really still hate the auto intentional walk. It's so unbearably lame. SMH.Comment

Really upset I had to drop his *** but he wasn't doing anything, didn't even play every day, and Wilson Ramos came back. So I had to.
Good that he's fulfilling his potential right now.Comment

Absolutely loved that Snitker left Folty in last night in a minor jam situation in the 6th instead of bailing him out and loved even more Folty's response. Don't look now, but the Rays are a good baseball team...they just keep hanging around. Would love to see them sneak in to the post-season."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: 7/14 - 7/30 Game Discussion Thread
Regarding Charley Steiner it's pretty disappointing to know that he's a bit overboard on the homer angle. I've actually heard Rick Monday a few times and think he's quite excellent along with everyone else associated with the Dodgers broadcast crew.
Anywho, i'm interested to see how Marco Estrada does tonight. He showed some signs of turning things around during his last start before it all blew up on him. It seems a lot of his struggles this season have to do with mechanical issues.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
