I don't get this signing at all. If it's to play 3B, you have Flaherty (who has played above his head) and Camargo. It it's to play outfield, you already have too many guys out there (Markakis, Inciarte, Tucker, soon to be Acuna). I guess AA couldn't help himself...

We need some right-handed pop, and I think they view Camargo as a utility guy rather than a starter. It makes some sense, especially since it’s a minor league deal.

As a big fan of Bautista I hope this works out for him. The man deserves to go out on something resembling his own terms. As a minor league deal this doesn't hurt the Braves too much and it's not like Bautista can't play the position.

I will be monitoring this and hoping for the best for Joey Bats.

Agreed 100%. The guy is a gamer. He’s got a bit of an attitude problem but his compete level is bar none. Wish him all the best.

Braves play the Jays twice this season. First set in Toronto in June. Who knows, Bautista could be on the roster by then.

Roenis Elias traded from Boston back to Seattle for cash or a PTBNL.

Made 51 appearances in his two seasons with Seattle, only 4 appearances with Boston.

Big big fan of this signing. I never would have expected Joey to take a minor league deal. It's impossible to know if his offense is consistent enough anymore, but he can definitely still hit major league dingers, and Atlanta can cut him loose for minimal cost at any time if it doesn't work out. It's a win for the fans as well. I think everyone (outside of Texas) wants to see Bautista give it one more go.
