And now a report just came out saying that Stanton hasn't ruled out the Giants nor the Cardinals.

That's gotta be a Jeter leak because if it's true than Stanton needs to make up his bloody mind.

And it's the Angels who win the Ohtani Sweepstakes.

I was kinda hoping the Padres would land Ohtani. It would've been a nice coup for a market that doesn't get a lot of love.

Man with the way the Mariners were setting up I really thought it would be them, glad he's signed, can't wait to see what he can do.

My vacation for next year was going to be to see the Angels/Trout/Disneyland so this works out amazingly.

I really hope the Giants get Stanton now.

To me, the Angels are absolutely perfect for Otani. They have a need for offense, they have a need for pitching, they have a DH slot, the money slot, they have a big market but not the pressures or attention of the Dodgers, and by the way, they have the one thing that literally no other team can even come close to offering.

All of this is to appease Mike Trout. Getting Otani, getting Maitan, etc. This is all an appeal to Trout to show him that this is the place to stay if and when the time comes where be considers leaving.

Perfect move.

Damn I wanted Ohtani to sign with the Padres. Wonder if part of Padres pitch to Hosmer that they expect to land Ohtani?

Anyways glad he is off the board. Now for Stanton to make up his mind and we can get things really rolling here.

I think the Angels are an ideal choice for him, too. A West Coast team with a huge superstar already in place to take some of the pressure off of him. An AL team that doesn't have a good DH already in place and can experiment Ohtani batting on days he doesn't pitch without having to play the field. A team that reasonably could make the playoffs or at least isn't bottom feeding quite as much as some of his other choices on the West Coast. Took a bit less money in the near future though.
