    Re: Opening Weekend Discussion Thread

For the first time in 78 years, the Giants haven't scored more than 1 run in each of their first 3 games.

The Marlins have used more rookies in 2018 (8) than they did in all of 2017 (7). It's April 1st.

How ugly exactly are things gonna get between the Marlins fans and the Marlins?

      Last 2 games had a COMBINED 25,500!

A's and Rays aren't much better.

Both teams only managed in the 17,000 range for a Saturday game vs a division opponent (Rays vs Red Sox, A's vs Angels). First weekend of the year, against a divisional opponent, and you can't get over 18,000.....

I mean you've played baseball, you know as well as I do that often times you literally know what pitch is coming but that doesn't mean it's easier to hit if its well thrown.

The A's had over 27k for each of their first two games and traditionally draw low numbers on Saturday day games. I think they will be all right.

If they don't find a new stadium, they won't be alright, especially once they're the only team playing in that stadium.

Everyone knows how many diff jerseys we have throughout the season this year. What do you think about the Easter jerseys today?

Indeed. Glad someone drafted him over me in fantasy, but that will make him an easier pickup down the road when he dumps him. He'll come together at some point.

Great job by Gray, getting out of that situation with no runs scored.

Terrible job by Michael Kay, rattling off a list of random magicians' last names lol.

It's hard to believe how consistently bad the Cubs have been the last 3+ years at driving in a runner from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

Yeah, this kind of game feels way too familiar.

I don't want to harp on the guy because he's clearly in over his head but he can learn.

That said, you're kind of right. Guy has been hyped as the next best thing at everything but has never actually been even above average at any of it.

Wild 5 pitch at bat ending in a walk for Donaldson, then Kahnle serves up a homer to Smoak. 1 run game.

Aaaaand Houdini's given up a grand slam to Smoak in the next inning. RIP.

Man, Boone over managed that 8th inning. He intentionally walks Donaldson to get to a guy who's eye is so good right now the baseball might as well be a beach ball.

                                Walking Donaldson made no sense.

Really not impressed with Boone so far.
