I played against Tucker and Mychal Givens in high school. Their Plant squad was one of our main rivals. Givens was a better shortstop then pitcher, and Preston Tucker is one of the best high school hitters I have ever seen.

I think he might be the most underrated hitter in baseball.

Such a weird moment in Jays-White Sox game.

Bases loaded, and then a ball hit to LF, Granderson jumps and..."catches" the ball (ump calls batter out). All runners were gonna run, saw him get it, run back to tag, but then don't.

The issue in all this, Granderson didn't actually catch it. Ball hit the wall so it's a hit. But the ump called the batter out and runners acted accordingly to the umps call.

After review, they just awarded everyone 1 base(so it counted as a base hit).

Clearly Dozier stealing 2nd with a 4-run lead in the 9th is just gritty, heady, scrappy, heads-up play and taking what the opponent is giving him. What a grinder. Kirk Gibson would be pleased with this level of gritty. A gritty, gritty ballplayer. Plays the game the right way--the way it was meant to be played.

                Spoiler

The other team hadn't formally conceded the game yet by not holding a runner on 1st base in the previous inning (the official white flag of MLB) so...

It's early, but I'm impressed with Yonny Chirinos so far. He's come out of nowhere a bit but's doing a great job pitching out of some jams created by the defence

Good time for the Cubbies to eat up the porous SP of the Brewers.

Yelich out, Nelson out till July?, not expecting much during this series.

Man, last night had one of the weirdest plays in the field i've ever seen (the Granderson non catch) but I have to agree with the umpires on it so oh well. A 4-3 homestand was good for the Jays especially considering how HORRIBLE the season started the first two games.

Grichuk and Devon Travis really need to get their bats going for this team. I'm looking forward to their road trip and see how they do. I'm hoping they can continue to bang out XBH at a regular clip.

Come on Colome, the Rays cannot afford for you to waste leads. Lucky to not take the loss already

What a strange time for the Yankees game to be on this evening (6:35) I only know this because Sportsnet will be showing the game tonight.

With Didi Gregorius knocking in 8 men the other day, the Yankees are the first franchise to have every position (excepting pitchers) do that:
