    Only 3 teams left that haven't been no-hit in the 21st century.

    Angels, Nationals, A's

    A's have the longest active streak. The last time they were a victim was July 13, 1991.

    Boston had the 2nd longest streak, and lost it almost 25 years to the day (April 22, 1993).

      Bob Melvin was on that '93 Red Sox team.

      He didn't play the day of the no hitter though.

          Darvish seems incredibly weak, mentally.

          After the walk to the 7 hole hitter that's 1-22 on the season, I called the rest of the inning.

          He doesn't seem to be able to bounce back from adversity at all at this point. When he's cruising he's fine, but the first hint of trouble, he's crumbled.

          This doesn't bode well for the rest of the season.

            So the Mets fans took over a section in the outfield at Suntrust Park tonight. It was kind of cool seeing them coordinated in outfits and just being very into the game all night.. I did find it funny though as we were all walking out a small group of them were chanting at the Atlanta fans, rather obnoxiously, "Braves still suck". Aside from it being just kind of a douchey thing to do as you're walking out with people....scoreboard anyone?:wink:

              They've got a gold 50th anniversary patch on the sleeve but thats the only change for the home whites.

                  Kevin Seitzer deserves a ton of credit for the hitting approach work with this year's Braves. Really impressed with the way the players are doing things.

                  But yeah, with Gleyber coming tomorrow, I think Acuna needs to come up in the coming days.

                  Red Sox 17-2 beating the **** out of everyone and everything and get no-hit. Baseball is a funky *** game. Watched a video with all the outs. Semien's error could have been ruled a hit, and then there was that Benintendi thing with him supposedly running out of the basepath. Eh. Still an excellent performance, and with 10 K. Manaea's pitches (at least the ones on the outs) were gorgeous. Didn't realize he was such a big dude.

                    Both him and Quintana need to get it together. Darvish constantly needing 100 pitches to get 14 outs is very annoying.

                      So I'm watching this Giants game (I'm behind on it, watching the recording), and just have to say before whatever happens does...

                      Very questionable decision for Scioscia to automatically walk Belt to bring Longoria to the plate. Personally, I think it's the wrong one and hope he pays for it.

                      EDIT: Well, it worked out for them. I just don't get the decision, though. Recency will tell you that while Belt has run into a few pitches the last four games, he is significantly the more unsuccessful hitter than Longoria as of late, especially with pitches out of the zone. If you're going to pull your reliever to go to the closer anyway, you might as well pitch around Belt, press your luck and see what happens. But to just automatically walk him? A double in the gap would have put the Giants ahead there. You've also exhausted effort pitches out of your closer an inning early, and we all know how that can come back to haunt you if you're not used to it (see the Mets earlier tonight). This "foresight view" is not over yet, since this game isn't over for me and not everything is yet in hindsight.

                        I watched the whole game live, and at first I was shocked when I heard it wasn't a hit. After watching them show it several times over later, I concluded that it was an ordinary effort ball and was totally okay with them calling it an error.

                        However, if Boston got another hit and they changed it later, then I would have been pretty upset. You can't just score things circumstantially. To me it would invalidate the no-hitter he had going up to that moment anyway.

                              Fun oddity. Cubs record this year has managed to be 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, 9-9....

                              The record is 10-10 by the 2011 Cubs.

                                I just consider this an oddity. Not fun at all. This team is way too talented to play .500 ball until the All-Star Break and then try to turn it on again.
