Ok, so thats gotta be up there on the list of dumbest/worst calls in baseball history, right? His foot was no where near the bag. How.

Are they having a special day or something at the MLB replay center where they are letting blind people come in and do the replay reviews for the day that I’m not aware of?

I've seen Heyward make more awkward looking catches this season than in all other seasons as a Cub combined. Get this man a better pair of shades.

How does the replay not have the angle we see. I mean How? When you see something like that. You have to wonder.

Injury report on Bryant...passes all initial concussion tests. Has a laceration above his eye from where his sunglasses were broken by the baseball. Phew

The Reds are a very bad baseball team.

Hey Almora, you can let the ******* baseball get by you every now and then. You don't have to make damn diving catches and circus catches every hit near you.

I'm glad to hear that, that was scary as hell watching that happen. It definitely wasn't intentional, Marquez's immediate reaction when Bryant got hit showed that. It was just a very unfortunate pitch that got away too high and inside. I'm just glad he's gonna be okay. That could have ended up turning out very ugly.

I also was glad to see Joe and the Cubs keep control and not potentially clear the bench or something, nor any retaliatory pitches. Other than the assistant and hitting coaches that get ejected (no way you aren't getting thrown out after tossing your drink at the umps), it appears everyone realized it was an accidental HBP in an extremely unfortunate location and nothing more.

To top if off, it was an 0-2 count. And Bryant sort of lunges his head as he settles into his load position--the ball just happened to enter the same area as Bryant's head. I don't put a ton of stock into the pitcher's reaction. Some of these guys can probably act.

Facepalm. This is turning into a repeat of Friday night. Everything goes right for the Cubs, everything goes wrong for the Rockies, and they proceed to give up 15+ runs. This game is already close to hitting double digits.

For the sake of argument, let's say that Torres is as good as advertised and has 3-4 ASGs, plays at a 5+ fWAR and becomes a star...is it still justified for the Cubs to have traded him to win that WS? 6 years of an all-star player for 1 WS (he won't hit FA until 2024).

It reminds me of Doyle Alexander and John Smoltz. Doyle was exactly what the Tigers needed at the time of the trade but Smoltz helped push Atlanta to the next level.
Yes because they won the WS and look at their infield.

Ahem. Just call me Nostradums. Heyward flat loses a ball in the sun after the awkward looking catch earlier. I don't understand why they can't make better shades for ballplayers. It shouldn't happen where a guy loses the ball while wearing sunglasses.

Certainly upstaging the guy in RF who's mostly known for his glove. If he gets a big hit in the rest of this one we'll probably be calling it the Almora game.

Glad Bryant's mostly okay. Sounded pretty scary on the radio.

Phillies in extra innings. Cesar Hernandez just dropped a beautiful bunt to get himself on first base as the winning run. Man is a good baseball player.

Heyward is looking like a circus show out there in RF. I'd say bench him in day games until they figure this out. lol The other guys aren't having this much trouble tracking the baseball.
