Mind boggling how few runs the Cubs have been scoring lately. It's all fine when they're winning, but...

The guy who picked Stanton at #7 must be pissed. Even the guy who picked Turner... at least he swipes bags, but he's no #6 draft pick.

Rizzo homers again. This time not even as the award-winning Leadoff Man.

So far this year, Yu Darvish has made 6 starts. In those starts:

            -zero wins
-failed to last 5 IP in 4 of them
            -highest career BB-rate (4.80 BB/9)
            -crisp 6.00 ERA
            -crisp 5.10 FIP
-66.5% LOB rate (would rank near last among qualified SPs in 2017--so he basically goes to pieces with men on base)

Darvish hasn't been unlucky; he's just been bad. I am not happy with Yu Darvish. Very poopy acquisition so far. Wish we had kept Jake...Although I was totally on board with the move at the time so I am being a big, whiny hypocrite. Hope he turns it around and doesn't become the next in line of free agent failures like Soriano and Fukudome.

Nice to see Bryant get career HR #97 there and #3 of the season, but we're gonna need more than solo homers today.

Carlos Pena did an excellent breakdown of Darvish during his start against Colorado and talking about how in the past he'd show the same release point and the ball would travel through a "tunnel" for lack of a better term but whereas in the past the ball would often go in different directions this year it has mainly been staying in one area thus making it a lot easier for hitters to tee off on him. It seems to me Darvish has lost a lot of what made him special. I was trying to find video of it but alas I couldn't. I hope I explained it well enough.

A Stanton siting, his bat got in the way of two pitches that landed in the seats.

Yep. Done of that has been bad luck. I believe he was in an 0 for 9 streak before last night and maybe only a couple hits in his last 20. He was making some good contact they were just right at people. Over the last few games though he's definitely fallen into some old habits where he can't touch the breaking pitches and can't lay off them either.

Newcomb had his best start of his career probably. And the offense keeps piling on. 7-0 now.
