    No.

I'm currently working with that professor from Buffalo who did a thesis showing that the Music City Miracle was a forward lateral to prove that Trout's HR was actually a foul ball.

If it means anything, the guy who used to run Hit Tracker Online said that ESPN put up a graphic during the game that estimated it at 443 feet. I would agree to an extent if they were talking about the landing spot, but the theoretical distance is definitely much farther than just that number.

And again, for me this will all boil over when first pitch of the Giants-Braves weekend series is thrown about 9-10 hours from now. But Monday through Friday you know that math is what I am about anyway, so I might as well give it some use on here.

Anyway, that 524 foot number does say one thing at the very least... that Mike Trout hit the ball so damn impressively that he actually broke Statcast.

        Cubs/Cardinals series this weekend.

I would absolutely love a sweep.

Smoltz was on MLB Tonight last Saturday I believe and made the point that exit velocity is such a talking point but it's primarily spoken about with HRs. Stanton always seems to have a high exit velo but he strikes out SO much, what worth is a high exit velo when he doesn't make contact. He was advocating for an aggregate exit velocity of all ABs...

I like the direction he's going. It's a bit different than LD% but could be used in conjuction...perhaps the exit velo of all balls in play divided by ABs. So what player makes consistently good contact? Perhaps even a sub-calculation of the number of all balls in play > 90 mph in exit velo divided by ABs.

Not sure how I feel about this.

The Braves offense has been clicking, and there has been plenty of production out of 3B. It's not like Bautista has been killing it in the minors. Hope he crushes one tonight, but I just don't know about messing with an offense that is clicking so well right now.

If it puts Flaherty on the bench I'm all for it.

One could argue that Stanton's (and I promise him being a Yankee is not why I'm commenting on this) entire value is based on his exit velocity.

I'm with KSU on this one...not a big fan of bringing up Bautista with the way the offense has been going. I know Swanson is resting his wrist, but IMO I would want Swanson/Camargo in the lineup over Bautista/Swanson or Bautista/Camargo. Jose didn't look like he had anything left in the tank last year when I watched him (and the numbers bear that out) and he sure hasn't torn it up in the minors this year.

Long time coming...it's a shame what injuries/stupidity have done to what should have been a fantastic career.

Even though we lost, I will be forever grateful for his Game 5 performance in the World Series.

This is the best move for him I think. He seems to be a change of scenery guy. Maybe he goes somewhere else and gets back to form.

The problem is he has had TJ surgery and Thoracic Outlet Surgery. The only other pitcher that fits his profile that has come back from both and succeeded was Chris Carpenter. Shout out to Jayson Stark for that tidbit.

Nope. The hit identifies more as a 4-base hit than a home run.
