Re: Wright is gone
Wow, here at New York we sure are spoiled.
Does anyone realize how many teams would love to have a potential rotation of Mussian, Vasquez, Wright, Brown, and Milton?
Yet, the Daily News, for example, was quick to make this out like it was only capable of beating a Triple A team."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yeah the Yanks spend money... but there just using what they have. Its not them thats flawed... its the system. So dont blame them because any team with that much money would do the same.
And every player in NY no matter what sport knows that if he gives a half-assed effort... he will be booed and ripped by the media.

I agree with you that the system is flawed, but taking advantage of a flawed system then blaming that system is a cop-out. Just say, we got lots of money we need to win and that's what we're going to do... don't try and justify things, it's irritating...
In the meantime, spend away Skanks... your lack of character/chemistry ..etc, becomes more and more evident every season. The more players you pile up, the more hilarious and satisfying your inevitable plummet is for the rest of baseball.Comment

I for one am extremely happy about it. A lot of Yanks fans didnt want him. Now his money can be put towards Pavano or Beltran hopefully. We need pitching though.N.Y Mets
N.Y Giants
N.Y Knicks

Re: Wright is gone
ESPN saw it as more than a rumor. They said the doctors found signs of arm damage in the MRI but the issue of whether the physical was failed or not was up to the interpretation of the doctors.Last edited by deeman11747; 12-11-2004, 10:55 PM.
