And the bullpen doesn't help us again.

I think we made the wrong decision is sending Mayers down instead of John Gant

Musgrove channeling his inner Steve Trachsel with this length of time between pitches.

Only getting 1 run and leaving the bases loaded with one out immediately came back to bite the Cubs.

And now Kyle Schwarber's Outfield Adventures cost the Cubs a run.

Okay Pirates fans, why are we booing Rizzo? Did the guy kick a puppy or something because unless he did something bad then there's no real point to it.

Also I hear the broadcasters talking about Manfred and something about banning the shift. Here's a solution, hit the ball where the defenders aren't. Sure it's hard but that's baseball. Defensive shifts are not a problem, game length is not a problem, and if you want more outcomes than a strikeout, home run, or walk, try making contact.

Also Baez should be ejected for instigating that whole scene.

Yeah, this whole thing is stupid beyond belief.

That infield collision was a little worrying though for the Cubs. It looked like someone wasn't communicating because crowd noise (or lack of) certainly isn't a factor tonight. Kids, this is why you speak up because someone could get hurt. I have to wonder if maybe Baez was still thinking about the slide or something but I doubt it.

Benches warned, so we're one errant pitch away from a pitcher and a manager immediately getting tossed in a close divisional game.

I'm still trying to figure out why the bullpens had to run in during that whole scene considering there wasn't even a real scrum. The only ones upset seemed to be Baez and maybe Musgrove and yet here we are with warned benches. I guess maybe trying to get the situation out before batters get hit? If that's the case I can live with the umps shutting down silly retaliation before it starts. I have to admit that "the unwritten rules of baseball" make me roll my eyes because all it seems to do is cause more injuries.

I’m mean, Musgroves slide was the retaliation so it’s pretty understandable why the benches cleared and why a warning was given.

I want someone to drive the bullpen cart in instead of wasting time running.

Did something happen earlier in this series that I didn't see? This is the first game that I've managed to watch on TV this series and I tuned in in the 3rd but did some bad blood boil in the past few days?

I can see it now, bullpen carts but behaving like the ambulance from Madden 92.

Ha! I thought you were joking when you asked why the fans were booing Rizzo.

I’m on my phone so can’t really link anything but just go a few days back.

How on earth did Rizzo keep contact with the bag there? If I were wearing a hat I'd tip it for that play.
