1 yr fluke? Did you see him help us win the WS the yr b4? I'm sry but to label him a fluke when he has a ring that he basically carried us to with the exception of Beckett in game 6 of the WS is just absurd.

I'll just say this, despite what I said in the other thread about him I think he'll struggle in NY especially if he gets off to a slow start. The media in NY is too quick to judge right away. I wish him the best tho (except not again the Blue Jays)

Apparently the Red Sox were no longer interested once they signed Wells, making Pavano's decision a lot easier (I wonder if he was ever seriously considering any of the other teams he met with). I think Pavano has been built up by the media because he's probably the best amongst a mediocre crop of starting pitchers. Still, I think he'll be soild next year but unlikely spectacular. For the reason he's not quite what the Yankees need (they need either for Mussina to finally put together an ace-like season for them or to sign/trade for a true ace) but he won't hurt them.

ok move, best of a weak crop of pitching as mentioned by many. he can be a solid second starter, but i don't see him being an ace in the AL.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

                      Really?

                      These guys aren't good hitters?
