One job, Barraclough...one job. Come on, Marlins!

I cannot believe Mattingly sat on his butt and watched Barraclough suck so badly. Thanks for nothing, Miami.

This team definitely has a "play down to their level" vibe and has all season.

A look at the Phillies uniforms for SPTO:

I think moving Rizzo to leadoff messed Almora up. He's is batting .339 in 168 ABs as a leadoff hitter. He's batting .262 in 149 combined ABs everywhere else. He's just looked out of sorts lately.

Brian Duensing, DFA candidate. What a miserable season.

It is ironic to me that the Cubs were built around the young position players (Rizzo, Bryant, Contreras, Baez, Happ, Schwarber, etc) with the idea that FA/trades could be used for the pitching and so far this year their pitching has been the downfall. If they had 2016 Cubs pitching, they'd be running away with the NL this year.

It's made the Cubs look awfully thin in the LOOGY department for sure. That's one area that needs to be addressed with Duensing not deserving to make a playoff roster and Monty in the rotation for good (?). All we have back there is ol' Mr. Reliable, Justin Wilson.

                          Good job Marlins.

Garbage franchise, garbage management, garbage players.

****ing worthless from top to bottom.

I know it's baseball and a 1-game sample is meaningless, but the Cubs (as the best record in the NL) hosting the Padres (as the worst record in the NL) shouldn't be yielding blowout losses for the Cubs. Is this the year the 2nd half Joe Maddon mystique is shattered? What if this team doesn't have that gear? Because this team is just going through the motions and I've seen precious little since the ASB that indicates any sort of hot streak is coming.

That 2016 rotation was historically good.

Slightly related....I feel like the same thing could happen to the Astros in the coming seasons and I could see the A's taking over the division even next season. Verlander and Morton will be 36 and 35, Keuchel is a FA, which means a lot of pressure is going to be on Gerrit Cole to repeat his great season and for Lance McCullers to continue to develop. They too, have a solid core of young position players, but I could definitely see some regression when it comes to their pitching staff next season. The A's on the other hand are a very young team who still have a lot of room to improve on an already impressive season.

One game is not meaningless in baseball.

I watched the 2011 Atlanta Braves.
