    Vlad Jr Update:
In his last 5 AAA games
    11 hits, 4 home runs, 5 RBIs

Yes, you read that right! A .550AVG, and a 4 game HR streak. Overall in the minors he's played 76 games. 73 games he has gotten on base, 66 of those being with a hit!

You can't even do that on MLB The Show.

Eff you and your sweet sweet angels. They play in Boston not Disney Land.

      Spoiler

Seriously though, I have a lot of admiration for Martinez. I've heard about how much he studies his ABs. When Boston was here they showed how he has an IPad taking video his swings in BP and they talked about how he also has his ABs recorded during the game and he would study them in the hotel room afterwards.

The man is not only driven to succeed but from everything i've heard he actually gives advice to younger players as well.

I'm surprised more players don't do this; or rather, more hitting coaches do not do this with players.

I do this with my players all of the time. Those gigabytes of video footage are normally the reason I don't have any memory on my computer heh.

It really is crazy how similar they sound, but it's great. Gwynn Jr. even has a radio show down here.

Watch the A's play in Anaheim, and expect to see a long aired throw for an out.

They're getting set up for the live stuff now though. They have a big "Forever Giant" circular tarp around home plate with a cartoon sketch look of a real Bonds shot, over a dozen chairs on either side of the pitching mound with a large "@5" in between them and in front of the mount, and right in the middle of all that on the infield grass is a glass podium where players will be talking, and Kruk & Kuip will emcee the event.

There are also 35 large inflated balls out in McCovey Cove with numbers on them, one for each of Bonds' splash hits there.

I just wish the guy was actually in uniform for them again.

It's a stain on the Giants organization that I wasn't invited. All these years later, and Barry's still ducking me.

I was flipping games and must've missed why Sale only went 5 IP.

EDIT: Just learned it was to save the arm.

Wow. This being 8/12 really gives us the first opportunity to reminisce about the fact that no one will ever wear #25 for the San Francisco Giants again.

Seems like just yesterday all that was talked about was how the Giants decided to retire his number while the Pirates were in town

Braves are throwing BP to the Brewers today. Guess they not only want to give up 1st place this weekend, but also the Wildcard.
