No 5th name has been reported but it's believed to be Stubby Clapp. Clapp is expected to be on the Cardinals MLB coaching staff if he doesn't take a managerial job.
I was just about to post that lol.

What can people who know about them say about those 4 guys?

1 of my 2 picks for the manager job isn't on the list, so now just a 1 in 5 chance of being right.

Hard to believe Rocco Baldelli is being discussed as a manager...I remember when he was a stud prospect. Seems like yesterday.

        Crawford - Baldelli - Hamilton

        What could have been outfield.

Apparently former Blue Jays 3B Ed Sprague was interviewed for the Jays job.

Reds hired David Bell to a 3-year deal through 2021, with an option for 2022.

              "scratches name off list"

Well at least I think he'll do well with the Reds especially with his experience building up the minor leagues and such. BTW I didn't realize this until I did some digging on him but he's a member of the famous Bell family.

I'd really thought they would go more analytical with their hire. In the long run I don't think that'll be a very successful tenure.

There is a rumor going around that Joe Girardi is turning down these managerial jobs because, he is waiting for the position to open for the Cubs.

                        Good luck on that Joe.

I just can't see the Cubs firing Maddon anytime soon. It'd take him resigning/retiring and even then Girardi doesn't really fit what the Cubs are all about IMO.

Too bad Girardi didn't go to the Angels. He'd do just fine coming into that situation.

Here's hoping Ausmus has learned something since his Tigers run.

Maddon is only under contract through next year and the Cubs haven't given him an extension...he's taken criticism for the way he's handled the club at times, so wouldn't surprise me to see him not retained if the Cubs don't play to their potential next year.
